Killing Questers - I think I owe someone and apology

Very early in the game before I knew how fun PvP could be I was trying to get the fishing achievement in Imperial City. I died several times and had one person in particular that I came across a several times because he would hide near fishing holes to jump people once they cast a line.
Then this one time I was fishing and an enemy approached so I thought here comes another death. Instead he stopped, looked at me then went on his way. I thought wow that was really nice and then he showed up with two friends and they all jumped me. I wasn't much of a PvP fan when that was going on.
What got me enjoying PvP was gankers that were camping the entrances to Imperial City when you still had to run through Cyrodiil to get to the entrance. A guild mate got jumped a few times and asked for help so they could get into Imperial City. Several of us formed a group (my first PvP group as it turns out) and after getting in decided to run around a while killing things.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

The problem is that Imperial city is both tings PvE and PvP.
Your argument is valid in Cyro but what abot the player that purchased Imperial city for the main story?

I`ve got 12 characters and not one of them has completed the IC zone story. Thanks ESO/ZOS for the completion!

I assume some PVP'er is going to kill me if I am silly enough to go into IC during a PVP event. I did most of my questing before the event on all three accounts and just go down and hand the quest in each day. I did heaps of Cyrodill board quests before the event, just in case my faction owned nothing, but I do not mind taking part in stuff in Cyrodiil, it is more fun than constantly being killed in Imperial City.

I had a nice peaceful event this year and even with the extension should not have to worry about being massacred!

That player picked the worst time to quest, that's on them.

It's toxic to camp the town turn in's and farm PvE questers just trying to get their tickets.

It's not toxic to kill a couple questers in a PvP zone in the normal course of completing your own quests and objectives.

In PVP zone, I usually quest as fast as I could and always expect PVP. Not sure how I feel when someone sneaks around me and I got the wrong signal and attacked; then the dude told me they're protecting me... This "protection" sentiment is totally unnecessary in my honest opinion, either go in a group or learn the route and defend yourself.

PvP players who feel compelled to kill every other player are like those D&D players that feel compelled to steal from every NPC and even their own party just because their character has the rogue class.

(The class is called 'rogue' because it makes them stealthy so they can spy ahead and disable traps for the party)

The entire concept of complaining about it or apologizing is flawed. It is a PVP zone. Everyone tacitly signs up for whatever combat they may face when they choose to enter it.

What's actually toxic is to think less of someone playing by the rules and PVPing in a PVP zone.

Furthermore, IC was designed for exactly this kind of PvPvE. If one can't deal with it, don't go there. It's that simple.

I post this as someone who doesn't actively hunt PVE focused players in IC and will usually leave them alone.

If a PVE player enters Cyrodiil, they know what they are getting into. It is not hard to find an empty campaign or adapt to avoid gankers. I haven't been prevented from getting my tickets once this whole event, and I haven't bothered setting up any PVP builds really. I rode the zerg or one night of my guilds group got like 20+ boxes and a half million AP just PVD'ing in a hour or less.

I have seen some busted builds though, like 25 EP vs one or two perma block tanks that were basically immortal. I guess it is possible they were injecting/3rd party software but I am guessing imbalance. That doesn't really make a casual feel encouraged to bother with PVP. :D

There is a special place for the jerks that used to set up coldfire siege behind doors to turn in quests though. That is just bottom feeding.

So there is good and bad in Imperial City on both sides of the PvP/PvE thing.

Probably frowned upon as bad behavior but long ago I used to keep a Spidersilk Kerchief in my inventory. When I would get particularly bad hate from a player (rarely happened) I killed I would link that to them and say it was for their tears. One of the responding tirades was truly epic.

I think, killing questers from time-to-time is a good thing, peeps do not forget who's real power here.

I skipped alot of questers while my 7 years of pvp, but always after i see them in the zerg chasing you down like mad dogs chasing postman.

There's no excuse for questers to be untoucheable in pvp-zone. NO.

I admit it, I mostly just quest in PvP. If I have the time I might join in on something but usually stick to doing whatever quest. I was responsible for the death of another quester in Cyrodiil the other day. Cropsford was EP and there was an AD that had just cleared the guards at the center flag. I saw them as I approached and cast a ranged skill as soon as I could. At the same time they moved around to the quest giver and never responded so I backed off, but my bear had other ideas...

When I am doing a quest that is PvE activity. When I am fighting another player that is PvP activity. Two separate happening at the same time. My point was just as some PvP centric players have bad tendencies so do some of the players that are just there for the PvE content.

when you are doing a quest in PvP related zone, this is not PvE, this is still PvP.

Had a funny moment yesterday, I was in IC doing my ticket quest and turned and saw an opposing alliance guy beside me. Out of instinct, I started combat but then stopped. Both of us just stood there for a moment and I think we both realized we were just questing. So we went on about our business, leaving each other alone. Glad my first shot didn't instigate a bloodbath! LOL

If someone is sitting there blocking 25 people infinitely, their build won't be able to do anything other than that. Ignore them and move on; they're literally only there to waste people's time.

If I'm in an PvP run its about PvP but in IC you want to do some of the quests, in Cyrodil we tend to do the resources or keep quests. Else I do quests, that is unless I spot an morning run.

Yea they were bomber bait pulling in ppl, I just ended up PVD and harvesting most of the event, I got some good drops too. I think my PVP stickerbook is almost 100% now.

How can you protect someone on the opposite side? I try and not kill questers and when I see one who starts to try and hide I wave then they stop sometimes and go on about their business. A few times while in the middle of that others from my faction start chasing them. Doesn't seem to be any way to stop them other than by yelling something which by that time they are already dead.

It's not easy but it can be done if you're fast enough. If I'm yellow and you're red I defend you from the blues. If the red come along, hopefully, you tell them not to kill me, but if they do, they're your guard now. As for my own side, usually a quick whisper does the trick.

I've facilitated a 3 alliance molag bal run (lore appropriate ala Solstice). It's helpful if everyone is wearing the same tabard. Of course is up to the other parties to honor what's going on and sometimes they don't.
