Zerith-Var impossible to get collectible

So, one of his necessary list of favors is to "give to a beggar". I've seen other posts about this that have been closed, but I think this is still very relevant.

I understand this is part of the "Give to the poor"... however, I am a 10 year old player that loves achievements and got this 10 years ago. Every zone complete, all done.

So, the couple under Davon's Watch there's no option to interact with. So that's out.
The give to the poor never ever spawn for me now, in any zone... I ran around for several days trying and nothing. I did manage to get a newer player to spawn the "Give to the Poor" in Stormhaven (far right of the map). And I gave to the beggar... but it didn't count for Zerith.... having read a Reddit post, it seems you have to do it in a zone you don't have the achievement in for it to count and qualify....

So now, weeks of working on all my companions to get all the upgrades and I find the final one I'll NEVER have unless Zenimax change the way things work, or put a random beggar in the game as a work around for us to use.

I had the achievement way before Zerith-Var became available, and I was able to give to the poor and have it count. So it's not that.

When did you do it? Because I'm telling you as of right now, nothing is working. Since they made the achievement account wide, I haven't even seen those guys unless someone else pops them that doesn't have them in my area...

Also, I'm on PS5 and wondering if that is making a difference?

IIRC, I had to find a toon that hadn't yet given to the beggar under the bridge in Davon's Watch. That one isn't an account wide achievement if I'm remembering correctly. Whereas the random spawn beggars out along the roads in the base game zones are. Or maybe I have it backwards.

You could probably try the one under the bridge in Davons Watch on another char? Can't be that all of your chars talked to him.
And random beggars actually keep spawning, I have the achievement and I see them from time to time.

I recently finished Zerith-var's favor on 7/9/2025 for achievement with beggar being the last one needed. I originally earned Give to the Poor on 12/29/2015 and I did both on the character who earned the original achievement. The beggars will still spawn after you have the achievement, but it may take some waiting and I had to wait until after Zenithar's event ended because the Zenithar encounters share a spawn with them. I'm on PC NA, can't speak for other platforms.

Same here. Had long had Give to the Poor on my main before companions came out, but I use my main to level all companions and their rapport. I brought Zerith-var to various Give to the Poor spawn points using Map Pins for markers. The random spawns still keep spawning after the Give to the Poor/Lightbringer/etc. are complete. It took a handful of tries to get a beggar spawn. Did it outside of any event, as event spawns don’t seem to count.

Well, I've been trying for several days now.... many hours, and nothing. Not at any of the sites - aside from 1 time, when a newer player spawned it for me, but it didn't count (as stated). Also, this is a NEW toon, who has NEVER given to the guy under the bridge in Davon's Watch.... and that doesn't work either. So I guess im SOL...

I just started a brand new character... went and got Zerith Var unlocked on it, then went to Davon's Watch... that NPC you cannot even talk to. Just like on the toon I've been trying on. So more wasted time on this broken achievement I guess lol.

The beggars for Give to the Poor are random zone encounters. If you've ever found a couple of NPCs bickering over a campfire, or a mercenary locked in combat defending a merchant, those are random encounters, and they all spawn in the same places. For example, Crime Pays, Give to the Poor, and Lightbringer encounters all spawn in the exact same 5-7 locations in each of the main alliance zones (not starter zones).

Here is an interactive map of Stonefalls. If you click "hide all" on the left filters, and then click on the Give to the Poor filter under the Achievements category, you'll see the pins for where you can potentially find the encounter.

I got the Give to the Poor one despite having completed it before; I'm stuck on the ToT one because I don't like playing it.

I got the "Give to the poor" achievement a few years ago. I got the Zerith-Var one sometime earlier this year.

I agree that the guy under the bridge in Davon's Watch doesn't always work. It didn't for me.

As others have said, giving to the poor is a random encounter. You can google where the spawn points are in each zone (but note that the spawn points are shared by two other similar achievements, so even when something spawns, it might not be a beggar). You just have to keep returning to these spawn points until you get a beggar.

1 You need to do this akivement with a character that doesn't already have it.

2 Keep in mind the road events spawning points are always in the same locations.

3 If you are desperate using multiple characters and logging them on the spawn location will eventually give you results.

I got the Give to the Poor achievement in 2017 and I got the Zerith-var's Favour achievement last November, so it's definitely possible. And I remember not being able to give money to the guy under the bridge, so I either found one of the Give to the Poor NPCs or someone else that took my money (maybe in one of the new zones?)

Just found one of the Give to the Poor beggars to confirm I was able to give him gold and Zerith was happy with me. This is on the character that first got the achievement.

I hate that stupid 'game' so I'm not bothering about the collectble. And OP should put a ticket in. It really sounds like you have a bug.

I did the give to the poor achievement years ago and managed to get the collectable - must have been on the same character because that's my achievement character and the only one with Zerith-Var unlocked. The Davons Watch one didn't work for me either tho.

I found a spawn point and rode out of range and back til the right one spawned. It took a while but definitely wasn't hours

There's a poor under a bridge in Davon's Watch. It will count to this achievement.

base game world random encounter have fixed spawn points in each zone, pick one and run back and forth until you.get a beggar spawn. The spawn rate is low. You can check the map by using addons or UESP map.

I also did Give to the Poor years ago and my method for Zerith was to find a spawn point near a wayshrine and just start and end my play sessions there so I had at least a couple of chances a day and I didn't have to dedicate however long at one time it would take logging out and in or riding back and forth. Helped it feel like a bit less of a grind!

This isn't true. I got the Give to the Poor achievement only on my main, and I only unlocked Zerith-var for my main and got that particular companion achievement done.
UESP.net - a great resource for all things Elder Scrolls that I've been checking since I played the original Oblivion release - can show you the places where these guys spawn.

As someone stated it's possible, just gotta find the right source or addon to show you the spawn points. I got all my companions achievements with ease, so it's possible.
