Account restricted but no idea why

Xbox eu

I just got booted from the middle of a trail with my guild. No idea why?!!!

I’ve had no email. And I’ve not done anything to warrant a ban as I’ve been in this trial with my usual guild for the past 2 hours!!

Two of my guild also got kicked out at exactly the same tim

What on earth is going on ???!

I’ve just found out. (Not by email I might add but delving into the account in here )

Apparently They didn’t like the name my healer and arc have been using for 3 years!!!! (I didn’t regard
Them as particularly rude tbh but some AI obviously does)

It says I can change the names but it doesn’t say how long I’m banned for. So right now I can’t

I’ve had no acknowledgment of my ticket let alone I don’t know how long this ban is for?

I’m happy to change the name to something else but if I’ m banned for an unspecified time I can’t do that?

I was banned for three days over a name. I was given a token and changed one letter. Wasn't good enough. After three days, I got another token and changed the name. Hopefully it's only three for you.

Seriously they need to take a damn chill pill with this aggressive censorship.

There is no way in hell this is good for their bottom line, and the number of people who care is miniscule.

They have ALWAYS been ridiculously overzealous, it's like the mods are all living in a convent.

WHO are they trying to protect? The player base is probably mostly over 40 years old in this game.

The funny thing with that name is that kids would most probably not pay attention to it anyway because they have no clue what it's alluding to (and then it's just some username of a character walking by which means nothing to you and you don't think much about it), and everyone who's old enough to know the word it isn't really bothered. (Let alone this game is 18+, so kids shouldn't be playing it anyway).

Also, it's just a medical condition, I don't see what's inappropriate about that, honestly. But maybe there's cultural differences at play once again?

Of course mods are free to decide what they find inappropriate or not - I don't want to debate that. I'm just astonished about this case because that would be some name I'd personally not be bothered by at all.

It has nothing to do with AI and everything to do with policy.

They passively log all communication and use software to parse it retroactively for TOS violations. The kind of software is irrelevant because a human reviews what is flagged and decides, according to policy, if any action is required.

I think the degree to which they are policing chat is crazy, but blaming AI just muddies the discussion. The problem isn't software, it is the actual policy.

In this case, even if the name was untenable to ZOS, it's clear that a suspension is an overstep.

@ZOS_Kevin Players who are aware of these issues are afraid to chat and have fun in your game. It is a problem.

I don't believe its Ai but rather someone in game reporting it, forcing CS to act. Or atleast that was the vibe I got from them when I had a forced name change for "Strokes the Staff" that was a several year old name when it occured....

The answer is , it’s not a phalic name. It’s not even a curse name. It’s actually a play on words.
Both ZOS and you have seemingly had a sense of humour failure on this one

Like I said. Most of Xbox will get banned on this basis.

That's a good one! BTW if zos is going full you know what on things like this I'm surprised there are still NPC's in the game that say almost exactly what the name of your character was. For example, the Gold Coast has two Wood crafters in one shop. Go talk to them and you will hear one of them say something about stroking hard smooth wood clearly implying exactly what it sounds like. I think it's great but now ZOS just kicks everyone out of the game apparently when any single person complains about anything. 1984 is here.

All I want to know is how long this ban is for. It’s rediculous I got it in the first place but to have no comms or acknowledgment or help is just… odd
