Fix fake healers and tanks in dungeons

As a new player who decided to make my first character a tank (Arcanist), I am very scared for when I hit 50, which is very soon. I have tried to hone my skills in dungeons since my only tanking experience is WoW (Vanilla to Cataclysm) and threat seems to work WAY differently in this game, but it's nearly impossible. Why impossible? Because every time I join a dungeon, I always have way over leveled and geared DPS who never give me a chance to pull first, everyone just rushes forward with no regard to me trying to keep up.

How am I supposed to learn like this? I love the concept of the Arcanist tank, like I LOVE my Arcanist, but I can't help but worry for when I try higher level content simply because no matter what I do, I can't find people to want to be patient and let me tank.

Find a good guild. Plenty of folks love to teach new people how to tank for dungeons and trials. It may take a bit of trying to find a right fit but you'll find it.

I did join a few smaller guilds but I have 1 open guild slot I was planning on trying to find a new player friendly guild willing to teach :)

ESO is casual, so expect players who don't often play anything harder than overland questing if you use group finder.

Solo queue for random normal would be ideal for me. Just maje sure dungeons with mechanics that require 2 players are not included. Rather solo than deal with idiots.

The entire reason the the random dungeon reward exists is to make it easier for players looking for a pug to find groups, so that would defeat the purpose.

ZOS is basically paying us with transmutes and exp to put up with all this stuff and especially to mentor new players, even if passively.

The groups are the problem. Better for me to do solo.

Unfortunately with this being an MMO, they haven't (as of yet) made a robust solo option. It would be pretty cool if you had a scaled version of the dungeon based on how many players there were - imagine queueing with 2 or 3 people and it auto scaling the content based on the number of people? That'd be pretty cool.

    OR

Something like WoW's follower dungeons where (just for normal), you could queue solo into this and have either 3 of your companions for ESO or just 3 NPCs congruent with the dungeon's story to fill in the slots that are missing. This would be such a phenomenal addition to the game. It'd allow people to experience the stories at their own pace & also just queue and get into dungeons immediately rather than waiting forever or queueing as a fake role to skip that timer and souring the group's experience. I'm really surprised they haven't done this yet after seeing how well it works.

I would be fine with them adding more casual options to the dungeons. As long as they do not give the random queue rewards such as XP and transmutes. Those are rewards for helping people fill their dungeon groups. They are not glorified login rewards.

    "Sometimes pugging is a pain."
"Sometimes group content is a pain."
"Sometimes I help people and they are ungrateful."

Yes. That's why they are giving you 100K XP and transmutes.

Someone really wants to read the dialog and engage with the dungeon quest? They want to take their time and explore every nook and cranny and enjoy dungeon design? And running solo is too difficult and time-consuming? That makes sense to add follower modes or story mode or other casual options.

But, "I want the reward for helping other players without actually helping other players," seems kind of lame.

I understand your point, but at the same time I think that would kill the whole "MMO" aspect of it as ALOT of players would default to that option, leaving the players who are actually looking for an MMO experience with longer queu time and eventually either having them quit or resort to solo play, essentially finishing off the game.

So, again, I understand your point. But I do believe it's a terrible idea in the long run for the longevity of the games life.
