And if that's the case, why not introduce pets for gold? For example, the game already has a mechanic focused on Dwemer mechanisms, which we meet in the Tanlorin storyline. I don't remember his name. Hyacinth, I think?
Make it so that he is generated as a seller somewhere, in random places at different times, and we can buy some Dwemer things from him) Like Dwemer robot pets, giving some passive bonuses.
And in order not to confuse the buyers of the crown store, you can make these pets quite expensive, for example, 100k gold each)

You can make it so that for the seller to appear, you do not need to go through the Tanlorin storyline. The dialogues will simply change if you met him before the Tanlorin storyline, or met him after.
The same can be done with other pets, but jack up the price for gold so that they cost proportionally to the crown options)

I have no interest in pets, combat or non-combat.

I think they clutter up the game and damage its atmosphere and tone.

I would gladly take additional combat pets given they do something productive and aren't that damn flappy bird in my face or the bear which makes absolutely no sense coming from Vvardenfell. I like combat pets with options. That being said, if I could get the option to turn off seeing everyone else's non-combat pet I'd do it in an instant. I hate being in the middle of a fiery battle with some enraged, I dead Lich Kong only to see a cat licking its paws while engulfed in a blue fire inferno that would give Dante the fear poos

    Hate those things

They should never implement pets that provide some sort of combat bonus, passive or otherwise, and sell them for gold if they don’t make them available in other ways as well. I would hate to think that just because I could buy a pet with a combat bonus for 100K, I would be doing something that some other players could not afford. That sounds like pay to win to me and would encourage people going to gold sellers. I have no opinion on where non-combat pets are sourced as they are just cosmetic additions to the game.

What combat bonus? Were we talking about extra loot? No combat bonuses were mentioned.

I have long wanted more non-combat pets and mounts, and think there should be more mounts and non-combat pets for gold.

If you wouldn't use them, then you wouldn't need to buy them, but I am sure there are plenty that would love to have them.

I wouldn't care if they were just recolors of existing mounts and pets (such as taking the dwemer spider pet and just changing textures, like already happens, taking the basic horse mount and giving us several other colors, natural and otherwise, cats giving us calicos and black and whites and tuxedos and orange and whites and tabbies etc... all on the same basic mesh, no flashy moves, no flashy mechanics, for the mounts, no special tack, just the same stuff that is on the basic horses you can buy, as well as adding things like basic wolves, big cats, nix-oxes and so on)

Purchasable cosmetics for gold probably won't happen. Even if they did exist, that wouldn't solve the matter of cosmetics giving you some kind of advantage when they're supposed to be purely cosmetic.

And of course the majority of non-combat pets will still be sourced from the Crown Store, if not from achievements in the latest Season content.

“Like Dwemer robot pets, giving some passive bonuses.” I wasn’t sure what type of bonuses you meant by this. 🙂

How many new mounts have they added for gold to the stables vendor? far as I remember its been the same 3 horses since I started playing in 2018 probably been even longer than that.

Doubt they would add something similar for non combat pets, when they haven't done anything with the existing stables one.

    Exactly...

But more and more will be added to the store and in the crown crates! Don't you worry! AND they'll be more expensive than the price of the game itself! Isn't this fun?!

No. The server struggles as it is. No need to increase the strain by making pets interfere with gameplay functions.

    o:)

    I don't quite understand this.

These would be no different than pets that are continually being released in crown crates, just available for in game gold instead of the crown store.

Players would still only be able to have one pet out at a time, so there wouldn't be 'any more followers' than we have now?
