Event banner keeps appearing on character login

Everytime you appear on the character login screen whether you’re logging in for the first time or swapping toons, the event banner pops up to advertise whatever event is ongoing. This never used to be a thing

Playing for 10 years and swapping between toons to do my writs has become muscle memory so pressing B and adding another button to the process is triggering

I also do not care for battlegrounds events nor do I need to be constantly reminded of whatever event is going on so please at least add a “do not show again” option

yeah its a bit rubbish.

plus theyre going to have to try waaaaaaaaaaaaaay harder than that to persuade anyone to go into BGs. its pretty dead on console IMO with the same few players/teams

U46 introduced a bug that broke the game's autosave functionality. In a nutshell, the game client doesn't remember a lot of things between gaming sessions.

It's the same bug that prevents crafting tables to retain their Filters state (ie.. Quest Only, Have Knowledge, etc.) between logins or character swaps. As well as some map settings, last used guild trader at the banker npc, and more.

Most notable though,the moment they switched on Addon availability it exacerbated and highlighted the problem so much so, that the game can sometimes become unplayable until you uninstall your addons.

This needs to go away, pop ups are never welcome. I really don't like having one more screen to click through each time I swap toons. I'm not sure anyone asked for this, and it certainly won't make me do the event.

Oh my God! This!

Is so annoying.

This is my routine of logging in and out of an alt account.

Select account

Switch to desired server (as the server title never seems to be right)

Skip Season of the Worm Cult upgrade screen ( which never seems to disappear)
I don't want to buy it. Stop pushing it on me everytime I log in.

Close event Banner

Close Featured screen

Now I can play.

Log out...

Close event banner... is it really necessary to have the event banner pop up on log out?

It's seems such a tedious chore to log in and out now.

I guess I'm just one of those people who deals with problems rather than getting upset and complaining about them, so I just close the banner every time and get playing the game.

EDIT: yes, I too will gripe about things a bit but then just move on and deal with it where those minor inconveniences stop bothering me altogether. Take Stuga for example. I did find the repeated yelling and chasing me a bit annoying at first, then it just became funny to run away and leave her (and every other npc) in the dust.

I raise the issue on the forums so the devs are aware there’s an issue. Guess we deal with things very differently
