Soul Trap does not proc the new Soul Gem Monster helm

As title says.

It seems to only proc when using spell scribe skills. Does not make sense on why wont work with base game soul magic skill

    It worked for me using soul trap. I used a cp3600 template character and crown store soul gems on a 6mil dummy in a house.
    [PC/NA] Dungeoneer (Tank/DPS), Retired Trialist, and amateur Battlegrounder (DPS) with a passion for The Elder Scrolls lore.

    weird since I did same thing with skeleton dummy and nada
