Infinite Archive Ideas

Mode has so much potential. What are your top 2-3 ideas to make Infinite Archive reach its potential?

To me its already one of the most fun parts of the game but its clear it could be taken further. Its particularly useful for being able to try out the mechanics of builds.

My two simple ideas:
1. More varied "locations" / "levels" with brighter settings. No reason for each level to be so dark and look so similar.
2. More obvious difficulty toggle to clearly set it to Solo mode or Doubles mode.
3. It probably would be worth it to shorten each stage by one level. I think that would get to some of the more interesting challenges/marauder encounters faster.

What else?

For more varied locations they can maybe try to use some sort of procedurally generation that pulls all the models from in game zones. Like imagine a location Summerset themed, and then next Arc it is Necrom etc etc.

A save option. Then we can talk about further ideas o:)

(No matter how many cool ideas they upgrade to IA, as soon as you run out of time in the evening, you have to abandon the run).

Yep. IA is dead to me unless there's an easy endeavor or I'm running out of fortunes to buy leads from Filer Ool. Until it has a save function, I'm not interested.

several things would make the Infinite Archive more fun to me
    - a save option. Disable the leaderboard if necessary to do it, I don't intend to push for high scores.

    - Class styles available to every character to use like in update 40, when they were only previewable. Still very odd.

    - option to skip stages and do extra cycle bosses instead.
The arc 3/4 stages make me lose threads more than bosses and i just want to complete Arc 4 and replay boss fights.

    - an underwater area would be interesting.
    - would be awesome if Filer Ool sold motifs.

Here's a few of my suggestions:
    1. An additional portal choice. There would always be a minimum of two portals leading you to different areas, and the Portal to the Unknown always leads you to a random minigame. Having two portals that take you forward, provided they give you a hint as to what you may encounter or acquire down their respective paths, will give the Infinite Archive a sense of choice, rather than feeling completely linear.
    2. Less reliance on the starting build. Bringing the Vengeance ruleset into the Infinite Archive would allow the Visions to be meaningfully balanced to make your character actually feel powerful, rather than being marginal buffs to your already powerful item sets and skills. I've brought new players into the Infinite Archive and they don't like how you feel weak regardless of which Visions you pick because the equipment you enter the Infinite Archive with (which a new player won't have) is far more impactful than not having the proper equipment at all.
    3. More environments/colors. The fire and ice stages are great, but it's still Apocrypha-themed. I suppose that can't be helped.
    4. Vision rebalance/redesign. Some are way more powerful than others, while others are only marginally powerful. Ideally you would find Visions that synergize with one another, rather than finding Visions that synergize with your equipped item sets and skills. See bullet point #2.

I would like to see less of the overlapping mechanics that can create no win scenarios. To be clear, I like the challenge of the overlapping mechanics in IA, especially in later arcs, however, with introduction of the new arenas types and fabled monsters, you can get some scenarios that go from extremely punishing to no-win, and the latter are never fun. An example of a punishing overlap would be to get a firesong druid that casts their invulnerability circle while standing inside a lightbringer's light circle, which make them invulnerable in turn. You just have to wait for the lightbringer circle to dissipate, to then kill the druid, to then kill whoever was standing in the druid's circle. It's annoying, but doable. However, when you get a mystic's meteor insider a lightbringer's circle, that can easily become a no-win scenario, and it can happen more often than you think, especially in deeper (>arc 7) runs, where killing the mystic fast before they call on the meteor is not feasible. I've seen so many wacky overlapping mechanics, hilarious fails being CC'ed at the worst possible moment, meteors spawning in the middle of freezing water, negates, invulnerable circles, triple negates, etc., I can't even count, and in deeper arcs when these overlaps create impossible odds are just not fun.

I want a vet version that doesn't need to ramp up. I can't stand easy combat. It's a waste of my time.

I would also like the option of playing a a version structured like a traditional arena.

    1. Add every single delve to the 'Portal into the Unknown' pool
      • mob spawns replaced with arc appropriate Maligraphies
      • Delve boss buffed to arc appropriate strength
      • Rewards muniment chest, like every other Portal into the Unknown
      • Muniment chests can also spawn in the delve's regular chest nodes
      • Extra verse at skyshard location. Consumable, goes into inventory
    2. Malagriphic Daedric Artifacts
      • Starting with Volendrung, since it's already implemented.
      • Added as verse pulls after collecting the right combo of Visions, a la Avatar visions
Thank you for coming to my T E D talk

    A save option...

    This, first and foremost.

    Save option.

Class furniture. Imagine a frost themed bedroom set for a warden with little glowing bugs floating around. Idk, something like this. I am not a creative person but I imagine this isn't easy.

Scribing and armory stations in the building/cave/whatever it is

Lower the damage of the one marauder who hits you with cleavers or whatever those things are. After arc 2 it just hits too hard. Its like it was meant to remove you lives.

    A better mount

More types of puzzle rooms including more duels.

Biggest problem with IA is if you don;t get Focused Efforts by the end of Arc 2, it's so much less frustrating to start a new run than try to proceed.

The other big problem is that when I am in the mood to challenge myself, I'd rather not have to spend hours slogging through 5 Arcs before I reach the point where anything is challenging. Even 4 arms is soemthing of a speedbump now.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Hopefully this might be ameliorated somewhat with the new roll system.
