Definitely not the case here.

I find them annoying, sometimes startling, and distinctly out of place.

I am not opposed to people having them, but I really don't want to see it. Maybe ZOS can just make the effects local to the player? Then they can enjoy it while others can go about their lives without it?

I enjoy them. Until someone get the urge to use Spellscar Quasigriff right next to a banker I just finished using when I play in the night with lights turned off.

Couldn't agree more. I alone have 4 friends who stopped playing because game is visually just going insane now. Not exaggerating, they literally left because of this. Everything feels like random bombastic particle explosion.

I’m getting up there in years, so the first time someone mounted a Voidmother Welwa in my vicinity and the screen blacked out completely and then exploded in a bright green color, I legitimately thought I was suffering an aneurism. I just sat there for a few seconds until the shock wore off.

The pink bubble gum exploding recall completely blocks my view too.

I don’t know how you can say these players aren’t trying to impress other players with their irl wealth display when they just camp out at wayshrines and flex, or stand right on top of the guild traders in major cities.

You've never went afk for something on a simple mount? A lot of those folks just left after finishing what they are doing

The one on the welwa mount ran right over me which is what caused the confusion, they weren’t afk.

Well, the welwa mount was not afk. You can't be sure about the player.
