Not looking forward to that increasing toxicity & ego maniacs who think the only thing that matters is dps.
Can you still opt out of sharing your data? Because otherwise is a privacy violation.
There is no privacy violation if you hit "Agree" to the TOS, which is what you have to do before you can even play.
I agree, the dps tracker is not something that should be allowed, personal dps tracker is fine, but the toxicity in the game is already bad enough. Thankfully, we have the auto chat banning thingy (AI or not) so that could filter out the toxicity if these types feel the need to express their feelings about other player's deeps.
Actually it's not a violation of your privacy since the base game provides for that information to begin with. If you whisper someone in game, the AI chatbot reads that, so there is no "privacy" in the game.

I don’t particularly my game play being put on Youtube just because I’m in a group with someone, but I have to accept that apparently.
But why do I have to allow an add on I haven’t chosen to use to have access to my game?
You don't.
So how do I get notification to opt out if someone else is using it?

Doesn't matter if someone else is using it. Them using the addon doesn't affect you in any way.

Well it does if it means they get to see & make reports on my game. That’s what Combat Metrics does!

Go to the Treasure Map or Survey in your inventory, use the Actions option (triangle on PS) to select "Show Map". Then watch the magic happen.
This is the best time for it too, with the 75% reduction in fast travel.

There's a new one called Map of Many Riches which displays the location of all treasure maps and surveys in the area and you don't need to select anything.

I much prefer Murf's Treasures. Mainly because Map of Many Riches doesn't pull up a map for you. You have to navigate to the map yourself, then you have to scan the map until you spot the marker. And the map marker used isn't highlyl visible against the backdrop either.
Murfs is instant. Select the map/survey/clue, select show map, click on the nearest wayshrine, and done.

For HarvestMap, the glitchy squares might be the markings in the 3D space. I have that disabled and just use the map or compass. HarvestMap has a number of settings you can tweak.
I think there is more than one treasure map / survey add on, but the one I installed, adds an action to show on map. So, navigate to a map/survey in your inventory, choose action and see if there is an option to show on map.

Yes it is. On PC I use an addon called Azurah to move, resize and hide parts of the base game UI, and as someone said the minimap addon has the option to hide the compass.
I'm not sure what the limitations are, if there's things which can't be hidden or if it's different in the console UI but it's definitely an option.

The addon analyzes and reports on the data of the player using it. It doesn't have access to the combat data of other players.
Why do you think raid leads ask for potential prog members to send them their combat data? Because they can't pull it themselves.

I'm on console so do not have combat metrics. I believe what you say, but if it's not reading anybody else's performance then how do people know they're doing X % of dps in a dungeon or trial? I've seen this in many posts here and I know that many people on console are worried an addon like this will come to console and lead to toxicity (I'm not one of those people, just mentioning it)

That’s good to know. If someone doesn’t have an addon to suppress the scrolling daily writ requirements that block my view as I try to craft, then I will have to find some way to learn this stuff and do it myself. I like getting notified that I started the quest but that scrolling is superfluous and annoying.

I much prefer Murf's Treasures since it instantly pulls up the map and centers it on the objective. Map of Many Riches doesn't pull up a map for you, you have to navigate to the map yourself, then you have to scan the map until you spot the marker, then scan for wayshrines. And the map marker used isn't highlyl visible against the backdrop either.

I just tried this out. There are no words to describe how life-changing this addon is. The first time you try to find one of these surveys or treasure maps is so frustrating and time-consuming without it. Thanks Murf!

Writ crafter has an option to do that
My question is why libraries are listed as installable addons? Those should be hidden from view and updated/installed automatically as needed. It's not like we can do anything with them on the console.
Also, does anyone have the issue where the "y" axis slider for the mini map cannot move the the right, but only to the left? I've tried uninstalling everything, log out, close app, and install it from fresh, and it still happens.
