Perfected Moondancer?

Earlier today I was theorycrafting a PvP build for my Necromancer and noticed that Moondancer from the trial, Maw of Lorkhaj, would be a great fit for what I’m trying to accomplish, working off of Avid Boneyard’s self-synergy.

After looking into the set further, I noticed it does not have a second 5-piece set bonus akin to modern Perfected gear… meaning that as far as PvP is concerned, you lose a whole line of a set bonus to run any of the Maw of Lorkhaj sets.

While I understand the need to have Monster-Only conditioning on some gear, or buffs, I don’t remember a time when Moondancer, or any Maw of Lorkhaj set ever broke PvP.

I would appreciate a revisit to Maw of Lorkaj loot to add Perfected gear to chase.

I think the reason they don't have a line is not because the sets particularly from that trial would break PvP, but because perfected trial sets were introduced in the game in next trial after MoL (which was Cloudrest with the Summerset update), so MoL and the original Crag trials are the only ones which don't have perfected versions.

When you look at Crag sets; you can tell where Perfected gear had it’s inspiration.

While Vicious Ophidian may not be a traditional Perfected version of Quick Serpent (needing vet) the design of VO is identical to modern Perfected sets.

Slayer and Aegis were added to the game for the Thieves Guild update back in 2016, (those buffs were the main reason people chased Moondancer to pair with their Burning Spellweave btw) ZOS later went back and updated the old Craglorn sets.

My question is this; why hasn’t Maw of Lorkhaj, one of the most popular trials in ESO, had it’s glow up yet?

The only ones that were retroactively added were the vMA perfected versions, I don't know why they didn't revisit the Crags/MOL (maybe because at the time there was a big outcry from people having to rerun MA?)

All past trials (and DSA) with their gear need a revisit/facelift.

Just remember that the 3rd item in the set does not work in PVP, look at the stipulation. Great set for everyone but even better for self synergy activating classes.

They already explicitly consider certain Crag sets to be the “perfected” version of others, and they already had the opportunity to revisit them but chose to use them as the standard instead:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/537057/pts-patch-notes-v6-1-0:

    False God’s Devotion

“Removed the extra 5 piece bonus of Spell Damage on the normal version of this set, and the extra 5 piece bonus of Magicka on the perfected version, to better mirror the power [sic] Vicious Ophidian as the perfected version of Quick Serpent.”

That was their reasoning for removing False God’s extra stat line compared to VO instead of buffing VO to be as powerful as FG. Since they already consider VO perfected in its power, they saw no need to increase it.

VO and PFG now read exactly the same except for the resource they return and reduce costs for. (iirc, the missing P means VO can’t drop in nirnhoned, while PFG can, but that’s not ultimately a power issue, as VO can be reconstructed in nirn.)

Oh that's so interesting, I didn't know they Crag sets were changed at some point. Probably better they did it this way, so people didn't have to re-farm everything, since I'm assuming by that point most people had what they needed from there.
