I saved seals, and intended to buy crates, for Akatosh vs Alduin. The mounts looked so cool and I was so excited to reach my seal goal.
24,000 seals to get one, because you have to get the most expensive one (via gems) first AS WELL AS the corresponding living armor polymorph. That's assuming you have the seals in the first place. Rolling via actually buying the crates in hopes of getting one of these mounts is so much worse than the already awful drop rate.
Absolutely disgusting, ZOS. I've put up with a lot of crap over the years because I love this game, but this takes the cake.
This is a personal vent and I understand that not everyone is going to agree with me, but I also know I'm not the only one infuriated by this.

✭✭They're in addition to what was already there in the Crates in the beginning. It's literally extra stuff compared to previous Crown Crates. If you're going to complain, don't complain about the "get 1 free" part; complain about the whole concept of Crown Crates in general.

You have to get 2 high-end stuff to get something you cannot get otherwise. It raises the need for gem, thus raises the need to buy crates. So, it is made with the intent of selling more gambling items.

I just don't see it as any different to any of the other things they've done with crates and crown store purchases at all. I've only ever chased a mount once, and by the time I got it I had literally everything else from the same crates, so it doesn't seem like it would be any different this time since if you're aiming for a radiant apex you've likely already gotten the polymorphs and other lower tier rewards, or enough gems to buy them.2 -

They affect gameplay. This could have been the reward for a difficult achievement. People say "fashion is the true endgame in ESO". They are not joking about that. Cosmetics are the reward for completing gameplay activities and every cosmetic in the store, is one reason less to actually be playing the game.
I am pretty sure this is the first time the game asks you to make a purchase for a different item before making the actual purchase. You can buy all the houses in DLC locations without owning the DLC. The purchases of furnishing packs aren't tied to specific houses. All the fully evolved event cosmetics come with prerequisites but aren't themself available in the crown store.
While I'm glad these mounts are "free", trying to get people to spend more seals/gems/crowns than they otherwise would have is, in my opinion, disgusting. Especially since we are talking about gambling crates here. Another new low in the game of crownstore dignity limbo.This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.28 -

"Frequently". That hasn't happened since their inception, but sure. The first Radiant Apex Mounts came in the Reaper's Harvest crates and were made available with gems and seals in 2021 (that's 4 years ago) and they were prices the same as any other Radiant Apex since. So no, they do not "frequently" raise the prices of these. Stop lying.
The only argument you have here is that this is a result of inflation, but considering that crown prices go up along with inflation, even that doesn't hold.

Of course crown crates have always been bad. But this is taking it to another level and therefore yes, I'll say this is predatory. The sort of tactics that I'd expect from a crappy free game, which is pretty sad IMHO.25 -

"Frequently". That hasn't happened since their inception, but sure. The Dwarven Crates, the 3rd season of crown crates we got (in 2017, that's 7 years ago), was the first to have Radiant Apex drops which are 600 gems and 10k seals respectively. Ever since the 4th crate season, the Reaper's Harvest crates, the gem and seal prices are as they are now. So no, they do not "frequently" raise the prices of these. Stop lying.

Do you have a link to radiant apex gem and endeavor prices for the past crate seasons somewhere? Because every time I have looked, the prices for each mount have differed.1 -

You can't play for cosmetics with the crown store. That's not gameplay. Gameplay is scrying, doing events to earn tickets to get mounts, doing quests to unlock mounts (I think Necrom had one?), and doing trial trifectas to earn mounts. Swiping a credit card is not gameplay, so crown crate cosmetics do not involve gameplay in any way.5
