Why do you need to be in a group to reset an instance?

Unless I've just been missing something crucial here, I'd love it if as a solo player, we could leave an instance (eg, skyreach) and reset the instance solo. Is there a reason we cannot do this? Like a technical issue?

If I’m not mistaken; most recently, Diablo IV gave players an option to reset all dungeons within their menu, maybe we could eventually see something like that except instances instead?

They have the ability to adapt this to any instance i think, since we have it for Infinite Archive.

I would prefer it be baked into our menus rather an item to be interacted with that is placed within the content itself.

Easier idea... Once all people have left an instanced area (wither its 1, 4 or 12) The instance is automatically reset.

For items you failed to collect that dropped, it should be sent to your mailbox.

Unless something has changed over the last 6 months or so since I've had to reset an instance solo, myself and others I know will leave instance, go into the group menue, change difficulty to Vet, then back to Normal, and the instance would reset.

As a solo.

Considering learning trifectas requires frequent resets, they should add a function to reset an instance from within without everyone having to leave it.

It could also help improve server performance if an instance could be reset without everyone have to port out and port back in. Perhaps with some limitations to avoid creating a larger performance issue through abuse/misuse.

Also give everyone full ult on reset.

The only thing that needs to be changed is to allow solo players the ability to reset an instance the same way a group can by leaving the instance and toggling the group difficulty.

I don't think the instance should automatically reset upon leaving because someone might have forgot to do something in the instance and need to get back into it. For example a player is running a group dungeon solo so they can complete the quest, but they left the dungeon too soon before turning in the quest, so they would need to get back into the same instance before it resets.

Also I don't think it's a good idea to be able to reset a group instance while players are still inside the instance. Because this will just give some toxic group leaders the ability to troll others by resetting the instance in the middle of a run, before the group can get their loot, or before they've had time to turn in their quests. And don't think that wouldn't happen because it sure enough will happen. But if there was a group-wide confirmation that everyone must agree to (like a ready-check) before the instance could reset then it might be okay.

(I don't know if anything has changed recently) The last time I tried to reset a group instance while solo by leaving the instance and toggling the group difficulty, it wouldn't reset the instance, but instead I always had to wait 5 minutes for the instance to reset.

Yeah this doesn’t work anymore. You have to group up and do that to reset a dungeon now.

Yeah this doesn’t work anymore. You have to group up and do that to reset a dungeon now.

As far as I can remember, solo players have never been able to manually reset group instances (not counting Archive). Leaving the instance and toggling the difficulty would not work while solo, and the only thing we could do was wait out the 5 minute timer for the instance to reset.

Yea this was what I believed as well. There are ways around it like having a friend log in on an alt, grouping with the alt and then them leaving the group and going back to playing their main, but that’s not truly solo.

Idk if it’s a technical limitation or an easy fix, but it would be huge for solo farming if we could enter instances and reset. @ZOS_Kevin any insight on this as a possibility?
