Dev Events

When I played DC Universe Online from time to time Daybreak would have unannounced and unadvertised Events where they would come into the game in a specific zone, like Metropolis or Gotham, and hold a special hour long event encouraging players to work together to complete a series of increasingly difficult tasks and then awarding those players that participated special rewards that were only available during such an Event. The rewards were tradeable, too which allowed those that didn't want to consume them to sell them to others that might want to have them.

It's been years since I quit DCUO and do not remember all the details other than the Events were fun as hell and usually crashed the server with how many players tried to join the Event. I have no idea if Daybreak still holds these Events.

The reason I bring this up is I have been wondering if ZOS/ Bethesda has ever or does ever do something similar? If yes, when do they happen? What days and TIME of days do they occur? I would like to take a shot at one if they are something that the good people behind the Curtain do. If not, is there a way to encourage them to start? I think players would like this if it were done right and NOT done too often. It's a thought.

Here's another thought - one that maybe can be turned into an Event -a ZOS Crossover Event combining The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76. No need to own both titles, just 'borrow and transfer' assets of each into each other for a short little mess. Who wouldn't want to take down a Deathclaw or twenty in Vvardenfell or Glemumbra or somewhere else for an hour? Or maybe have Sheogorath make a brief appearance and bring some of his mischief to the Fallout 76 world?

Let me know your thoughts, won't you?

Thank you.

    Lemme get this straight.

No advance information. No advance time or location. One hour time limit and its over.
And they reward with items that can Not be otherwise achieved in the game.

Oh sure. THAT's fair to EVERYONE in the game. < was said sarcastically >

That's worse than locking ultra-rare items behind the hardest Vet trials.

I don't remember them being advertised and when they happened it was always the players that spread the word that one was happening. Maybe they were? I can't say. But they were hella fun!

And the rewards were usually items called 'materials' or a style set item or even one of their lottery boxes. I always consumed mine, first on my main and then copies went to my alts. And since posting my OP I now remember that some of the reward items were actually Premium items that cost real money from their Store so ZOS could do that, too.

I missed most of the Events that happened because I never saw any announcements or advertisements - even when I was in the game and one started there was never a serverwide announcement. It was always just the players spreading the word. And then there was the mad dash to get to that zone ASAP to increase your chance at a reward. At least this is how I remember them. DCUO was a lot of fun before certain people ruined it for those of us that has been there since the very beginning.

I think Dev Events in ESO would be a lot of fun.
