It's exactly the same as before except that you can save up your rolls for what writs you get if you want to. If you want to pre-plan like that just open the envelopes as you get them. It's no different from before except that it's better. There's absolutely no down side to this change other than a single extra click if you want to do things the same way as before.DenverRalphy wrote: »So the issue you want addressed is that people have no self control and can't think things through to realize they need to make sure they have inventory/bank space if they want to put a bunch more things in their inventory/bank. When that happens, when a player starts opening writ envelopes they may open a bunch of writs they can't complete yet. But now they're stuck with no place to put them for later, so are now forced to either sell or get rid of them whether they want to or not.
At least before this change, the player at least had the advantage of pre-planning along the way because they were able to know in advance what choices to make.

I mean, I didn't know how it was supposed to work, I just got some of the envelopes yesterday while doing writs and figured it out with a little experimentation.old_scopie1945 wrote: »It's exactly the same as before except that you can save up your rolls for what writs you get if you want to. The problem is that not all folk know how it is supposed to work, including myself. I did a search and couldn't find any info on it apart from this post on Google.

It's disappointing that it doesn't stack opened ones that are exactly the same. I actually thought it was going to work this way when stacking master writs was announced.

But you can't stack opened ones. So if you have, say 500 opened ones stored someplace, well you will still have 500 opened ones at the end of the day. If you keep your stacked ones (if they keep stacking?) to use later, you have to unleash all of them to get at the ones you want. If you use all of your, say, 20 fully levelled crafters all doing crafting dailies, yes there is some point. For someone like me who stacks them and only doing them when they want then, the problem is you can't pick and choose the ones you want to do and keep the stack. It's either all or nothing. I suspect I am not the only one who does this. In which case I can't see any real advantage at the end of the day for us.
So should we be opening stacks on toons with max motif knowledge to ensure max master writ returns? Does master writ _quality_ account for that or is it just the initial drop rate of the stackable item itself that accounts for that stuff?
You mistyped there, you meant that motifs learned only affects the chance to get a master writ to drop, not a motif. But yes, that's my understanding of it too.DenverRalphy wrote: »So should we be opening stacks on toons with max motif knowledge to ensure max master writ returns? Motifs learned only affects the chance to get a motif to drop from a crafting writ. It has no bearing on the quality of the writ.
At least, according to this source. IIRC, it was sourced the info from patch notes and dev queries over the last decade.
