What is the point of the lorebooks?

I know for me the lore books are an integral part of the game. Having the mages guild depending on this was pretty smart on the devs part.

I spent Hours on end collecting books in TES:Skyrim. And, as other commentators have mentioned. I enjoyed taking these books and displaying them in my player home in the shelves there. It was nice to watch my library grow as I progressed through the game.

While having the books stored for later reading is great for allowing us to keep moving and read later, It would be nice to have some way to "show off" our dedication to the lore. perhaps collecting rarer sets grants a title or something.

Books have always been a huge part of TES games. Too bad though we can't keep physical copies...in like a house...:P

By physical copies in a house. You mean virtual copies in a virtual house right? lol

We all have skills that need to be lvld but we don't want to take up one of the precious 5 attack skills we have slotted. What I do is slot just enough to keep me alive if attacked, and the rest I slot with skills that need to be raised but are not currently useful. Then I go chest hunting. The first time I slotted the healing staff skill and opened an advanced chest it raised it to lvl 3. I have easly raised my toons 7 lvls just from opening chests. I am not talking skill lvl but char lvls. I am thinking mage skills can be raised the same way?

Housing seems to work best when instanced in an MMO. Have seen housing done as instanced villages with individual house, apartment buildings with individual apartments, hotels with instanced rooms, etc, etc. Most players I know love to have housing to display their trophies, armors and in a few MMOs pets that you could either tether down in your 'house' or allow them to roam free.

heres a qstn, are lorebooks on the landscaped instanced to each player? several times I see people passing up on picking up lorebooks and wondered if they could even see them

They are instanced to player as they goes away then you pick up but are at fixed locations.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I figure there are three maybe four kinds of players when talking about lore books.
    1) players that go through content like their butt is on fire, and have no interest in anything not hack and slash/faceroll, thus ignore lore books.
    2) Same as above but realize lore books give them something so click them.
    3) People who don't really see what a great RP/immersion thing this is but click them anyway and maybe read a bit if they are bored.
    4) People that like lore, stories, Rp etc that always find them and always read them in full, perhaps even working them into their character personal story

    lol
Joking but to the don't they see them question...I am sure they sometimes do, if they slowed down. They just don't care about them or will do them all at once later or something.

I want a house so I can put my collected lore books in book shelves.

Ah, like in Skyrim. If they could also make them randomly disappear or fall on the floor while you are away from your house, then it would be just like in Skyrim.

I think most people get that, except for the few sitting at their computers right now wearing a Nord helmet.

They have set locations, but sometimes don't spawn for a particular character?

Or they're under the world. I've had that happen. I have the lighting effects turned up, and I've noticed the distinctive purple glow of a lorebook waiting to be read ... but it's underneath a barrel, dresser, crate, what have you.

Logging out and logging back in puts it into the correct readable position.
