There are scams and spam everywhere these days. Tbh, I got to where I just turn off zone chat by default (for other reasons as well lol).
But for what it's worth on PC/NA at least, although the gold selling message stays roughly the same, the account name does seem to change frequently, suggesting to me that maybe zos is banning them but they have a massive supply of burner accounts / they're creating new ones faster than zos can keep up.

It is fairly rare to see the same account two days running but as it is so easy and cheap to buy new accounts I suspect it will always be a never ending battle.
What annoys me more is they must have customers to make it worth their while!! Why do people risk buying from these dodgy websites???
I report them then I receive emails from ZOS saying the matter was investigated and appropriate action was taken with the accounts vanishing from my ignore list within a few days.
I make a point to type out their zone chat message or at the very least the part about what website they are directing people too in the optional/additional info section of the the report.
There being banned but so long as the base game is cheap to buy they will just create a fresh account and start the whole game of whack a mole again.

If they'd simply add an option to report from the chat window, it'd go a long way. You can block a user from the chat window, but you can't report them. I'm not going to do all the leg-work of screenshotting, sharing that screenshot to a shareable location, jumping on my pc/laptop to import said screenshot, then submit it to ZOS for action to be taken. When all I should have to do is select Report from the chat window, the system already knows to take its own screenshot or even better simply save the chatlog, and submit it directly to whomever handles the reports.
On cosoles the reporting options are really really bad when they don't need to be.

Also, if you want easier access to your screenshots, on PlayStation you can use the PlayStation app. It automatically has access to your last few screenshots. So you don't need to download it onto a laptop. That's how I share screenshots I take on here. Take the shot and then use my phone for the rest. Open PS App download the one I want and then upload it to forums.

The biggest problem are the players that are buying gold. They should be held every bit as accountable as the gold sellers.
Even if they ban the accounts, they don't ban the IP Address, or however else it works cause they just come right back with new accounts. And the fact is since they do keep coming back it implies there's an actual market for this, which implies there's plenty of players that are stooping low enough to give shady people on the internet real cash so they can be rich in-game.SilverBride wrote: »I don't think even a newcomer would assume this is legal. They don't even disguise or censor the word. They place spaces and dots between each character.

The PS app is great for quick forum posts, if you don't mind the mobile browser version of the forums. That's as simple as can be.
But for submitting screenshots to the ESO support page's reporting system, IMHO it's much less of a headache to just plug the phone into a PC/Laptop after sending the screenshot to the PS app. Especially if you have to attach multiple screenshots. The support page's report system is clunky enough as it is. I have no desire to tackle it from my phone's browser (and I'm a tech nerd).
Heck, what I'd REALLY like, is the ability to submit videos directly to the ESO report system just like you can send video clips directly from console to Youtube. I'm a video clipping fool with the PS5 (good gawd they make it so easy with always having the last 1hr of video at your fingertips).
