Bank --- messed up

I started a 2nd character yesterday and when I got to the first town I discovered that the bank my 1st character had is being shared by the 2nd character!!!!

The 1st character's bank was full and the stuff in there is too high a level for my new character.

This bank is USELESS to my 2nd character. It's like he is not allowed to have a bank.

Why doesn't each character have his own bank?
If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

Like GW2, the main bank is shared among all characters. That's how it works. If you need more bank space, create some alts to holds stuff. Each can hold another 60 slots of stuff with no investment; don't even have to do the tutorial.

The account-shared bank is actually a good thing. It allows you to move items between your characters without having to deal with mail, postage, etc. Also, since you can craft right out of the bank, it's great if one of your chars is feeding materials to another.

That said, there are plenty of people who think the bank should be a lot bigger if it's shared across chars. You won't have to dig far to find threads on these forums about that.
I have just told you more than I know.

shared bank allows the sharing of drops one of your char gets with another...there is so much useless junk in this game (that may be useful) you will find yourself needing space a lot if your a hoarder like me create 6 more alts and make them banks that's 60 spaces each for free. I give each one a job holding 1 kind of item like bs mats or woodcraft mats food mats ect.

:) it can take an hour just to find a name for a character that hasn't been used already.

If you create several alts, what do you do? Just create them and not take them through the first 3 levels? Do you email things to the alt? It seems like a labor intensive thing to have to put stuff in the bank then switch characters and take stuff out of the bank then switch back again.

Although the bank is shared their individual inventories are not, correct?
So if you want to craft something you have to make sure you have empty slots in the bank then switch characters to the one who holds the items you need, put them in the bank, then switch characters again to the one who is going to use the items. Lots of switching and time wasted.

Once you get up to 150 bank slots (there are even further upgrades, people have said 200+ ) you really won't need any more; that holds all your enchanting, alchemy, upgrade mats, and blue/purple provisioning materials. Basically every coin I make goes to bank upgrades and I'm at 130 or 140 now.

Unfortunately, they didn't make the shared bank to increase in size whenever you create a new character. That would have been nice.

Step 1 is to throw out all the junk you've been collecting and not using.

Step 2 is to just not bother crafting eh? Or do what most players do, spend half their game time loading characters in and out to get their specific holding stuff out of the bank. Elder bots online and Elder banking online it seems sometimes. :(
