So I died and went to a wayshrine. Upon getting there I received a trade. Then the player canceled. Upon asking him why, he says I wanted to know if your a bot.
Has this game detrained to the point players are standing there doing a GMs job and examining everyone.
So sad, and if this was the case name plates would helped.
But again shows the sad state of the game

Up until the beginning of this week, I probably spent 20% of my time in game maneuvering myself to "grab" bot names in trains so I could report them.
Done & over with.

hate to say it you still have bots running around gathering resources. say a lot today.1

Dumb way to do it. If I get a trade offer from a stranger without a tell first, I assume they are begging. And I just ignore them and the trade offer.3

Ditto, I actually always decline trade offers from complete stangers.4 -

I got asked once if I was a bot, because the other player thought my name was weird, and didn't know what 'onyx' was. I'm still amused, but it tells me in this game that I shouldn't get too creative. Because eventually the bots will move on to names that look more like names :P0

They have started using actual names. I saw 3 of them running around on their programed paths and they all had actual names.2 -

That's why my bank alt opened the chest you get, put on the armour and equipped the bow. And has a proper name and non default appearance. Bank alts aren't there all the time. they pop in and out.
I report the skulking bank alts for botters whenever i spot them.

Wildstar has a cash shop system, so they will need to have efficient anti bot measures or the botters will drain their revenue.
I don't even think wildstar will have 1% of the amount of bots ESO has.2 -
rfpalmerb16_ESO✭✭✭I've taken a different approach.... You know when you see the WTS Dreugh Wax, Tempering Alloy, Rosin posts in the zone chat? I respond and say: Please COD me 100 of each. (Or I meet them to trade)
If they actually send me 100 (or 200 or a strange number like 314) of each COD I decline and contact customer support saying something like this:
Hi,
A player was just able to send me (or trade me) 100 dreugh wax, 100 tempering alloy and 100 rosin. Given the newness of the game and the difficulty in finding these items I suspect this player may be a collection account for a bot farming items in the game. If you have the time I think you may want to look at this character and see if this is the case.

Basically I hope that a curious CSR will look into their inventory and, maybe seeing 1K dreugh wax, tempering alloy and rosin would put 2 and 2 together. I mean, its the basic rule of fighting crime -- follow the money. Better to take out a top-level account and eradicate a few weeks worth of work from a bot farm as opposed to constantly banning the scripted bot accounts. Like taking the assets away from a drug lord.Round peg? Square hole? Not a problem with a big enough hammer.3 -
Xnemesis✭✭✭✭Real simple solution put a CD timer on the delete character function so they cant keep popping out characters at wayshrines to complete non combat quests. This would atleast stop that form of botting and create a very minimal footprint to legit players. It is a much better solution then removing quest rewards.3 -
