That is a bit disappointing as the Oblivion dialogue was jumping between multiple voice actors talking to an npc, from an old poor lady to someone much younger because of dialogue choice. AI would probably do wonder here filling out minor npc dialogue like the one you had in Morrowind, you talk to an guar herder and he talks for 10 minutes how awesome guars are while you tries to focus him on the murdered lady he found.Ragnarok0130 wrote: »Agree, spend a lots of time in it. I obviously assume level scaling is more like Skyrim and FO 4, it exist but is much more local and restricted. Now it need Oblvion's spellcrafting.
And hope dialogue has improved.
Wes Johnson said they just reused all of the current voice acting. I also hear that they layered the UE5 engine over the original engine so it should be mostly the same game with improvements in areas like archery from what I read. I hope level scaling was addressed because that was the worst part of the original (but awesome) game. Game size is 120GB on disc and I’m installing it as soon as I get home tonight.
In the livestream they said they expanded on the voices that are there, so now each race has a unique voice. So while some of the voices are the originals (like Johnson's Sheo), there is new voice stuff. I'm glad they left most of the original stuff because part of Oblivion's charm is the voice acting, IMO.
Also they said the level scaling is a combination of Oblivion's and Skyrim's, so I'm curious to check it out.
The visuals looked like a huge improvement.
I instantly bought the game but won't be playing it right away. Looking forward to getting into it soon.
And yeah, saw that some ESO lore has been included, at least when selecting an origin for the character. Funnily enough, I recognize all the origin regions from playing ESO, not from having played the SP games.
I really loved Oblivion, but I won't buy the remaster, it won't give me anything new. I'll wait for "Skylivion", because their work is worthy of respect.

Be careful what you wish for... the graphics are... intensive.
If they did something like this with ESO they'd be writing off a good chunk of the player base.
And is not like most people can quickly get an upgrade...
With things as they are with GPUs at the moment, good luck purchasing one without getting a 2nd mortgage.
Nice, one very jarring thing in the old game was the low number of voice actors and the reuse of lines from other actors. That is a bit disappointing as the Oblivion dialogue was jumping between multiple voice actors talking to an npc, from an old poor lady to someone much younger because of dialogue choice. Even though I understand English, the fact that there's no French version of the game (audio) is honestly a scandal, and the French community isn't happy, I want to say.
It's an RPG, and audio is very important.

Unfortunately the new voices are only for NPCs, so if you play an elf you still either sound like the Adoring Fan or a chainsmoking granny. But it's certainly nice that they don't all sound the same anymore, some use the old voices, some use new ones, you can hear a few of the Skyrim actors there. Speaking of, I MUST find out if the "hang on, let me do that one again" line is still in there, it would be hilarious if they kept it.

Ahah! This made me laugh as I am now feeling like Smigol/Gollum - One side knows I should save my money "I don't know what to choose!", the other is there tempting me "why not both? They're our treasuresss" XD

Skyblivian on the Skyrim engine for free, so should be no restrictions on what kit you have. It is also remade and not just remastered and stated coming out this year. So why not save your money.
the game has aged for sure, feels like they splashed new paint over outdated mechanics, some of which are just straight up jank (combat).
I prefer ESO hands down. I mean, we have Tales of Tribute, a full card game IN the game LOL how cool is that guys?

I live in "console Tamriel", poor me.

Looking at it, I agree (no sarcasm from me though), just looks pretty and fry your gear if your not willing to fork out 1,000 and then some quid. I love Oblivion, but I love ESO more.
One thing who would make me go crazy is to have to switch spells before using them after so many years in ESO.the game has aged for sure, feels like they splashed new paint over outdated mechanics, some of which are just straight up jank (combat).
