...you are telling me this dude following me around has been in the game since 2014, and we still don't have one for a pet class?!!? (I know the model has, but I mean in terms of following your character).

I absoutely loved this guy following me around with this stompy feet. I need one now, who can fight with cool animations.

Stuff like this makes me miss wow.

EDIT:
Ok, so ya, he actually fought for me like a sorc pet does.

ZOS, you guys have so many cool things in game that you do not capitalize on....that are insanely fun...why?!?!?!!?!

EDIT AGAIN:
Stompy taking on some cloaked thug.

EDIT AGAIN AGAIN:
Bananas, Stompy and I having a picnic (nevermind the dead guy behind me).

EDIT AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN:
This mean chick took Stompy away and erased fun day :(

How did you get it to follow you around? I didn't know that was a thing!

During the quest you have to capture one, and he just follows you around. Its part of the MQ for Glenumbra (I am working on Cadwells Silver/Gold).

Its just a cool feeling to have this big brute pet/compantion following you around that will DPS other targets like the sorc pet/bear.

I spent a fair amount of time just running around with him before I continued the quest. I tried to run to Daggerfall, but it said the quest failed and I had to retame a new one for the turn in.

Was fun, reallly fun. It reminded me of my larger pets in WOW like Clefthoofs (insanely fun when you are a Gnome or a Goblin becasue they are so tiny).

I think no pet should be more than 41 inches high and all flying pets should be the size of a mini lightning bug.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

There is also a quest with those in greenshade. Where you can choose the type and build one, then use them to battle with others. That is actually the quest, to win two battles with your creature. You have to heal it up manually as well.

This quest is located south west of the main town in greenshade, directly west of the forest people's town just below the main town. You could also follow the road west out of town, and stay a bit south of the road to find this quest. (this quest is not part of the main quest, so you do not mess anything up if you complete it before actually adventuring into that zone)

It's been so long since I've done that zone's questline that I don't remember that. I guess it's time to get back to questing on my various alts. o_O

Its a good use of time imo in game. Being refreshed on some cool things I saw years and years ago and seeing new things I have never seen. Lots of cool stuff in game. I sometimes have a hard time though. The designer in me wants to see so much more (and often, simple things that could make a world of difference).

Very nice! Thank you. I'll have to check that one out when I sail to Greenshade.

Good call! I never thought about a warden, but ya it would fit right in.

If there is anything I miss from wow that ESO does not have it's a pet class with the ability to tame beasts or summon different demons/daedra. What I mean is just the sheer diversity. WoW has 77 different pet classes for hunter (if I am correct) and countless number of variations within each class. Easily in the few hundred range. Warlocks can summon different demons and they have ways to change their models to give them about a dozen varients.

I wish ESO had a similar mechanic, at the minimum just allow us to change skins. I have always been bothered by everry sorc having the same pets. The "red" option is (and I dont say this to be mean) terrible looking. I bought the morrowind collectors pack when morrowind launched specifically to have the different bear skin for Warden.

I'd like to see more of that stuff.

This - in SPADES. I really wanted the warden to work like the WoW hunters....

Agreed. It would have been cool to tame a atronach or a wolf or a tiger/cat or a shalk beetle or....come to think of it, ESO could do with a greater variety of fauna as well.

I know you had this experience, many in ESO who never played wow most likely have not, but what I really miss about wow hunters pets is that they felt very much a "customized" part of the class/experience. Being able to tame varioius animals and then being able to NAME them (this is what actually sold me on wow in 2004, the ability to tame, name and have the pet fight for you). If we could do this in ESO, it would be HUGE to some players.

    Story time.

I grinded High Warlord with a Zul Gurub bat I solo tamed at level 60. They had an ability called "Screech" which lowered the targets AP and it was a MASSIVE aggro threat when combined with Trueshot aura in the MM tree (it could pull from a 5 sundered target). Due to this, my guild let me MT Onyxia with the bat. Healers knew to heal Asuka (my bat) and she never lost threat. Great times.
Years later I was right clicking on the pet where it said to "dismiss", I said to myself "yes, I do not want to dismiss Asuka) and as I hit the button, she vanished. Not to sound like a child, but I literally cried. She had been such a huge part of my time in game.

Sent a ticket to a GM. Hours later I was in the middle of a guild raid. I told the raid I had a GM to respond to about Asuka. The guild took a 5 min break to allow me to speak to the GM. The GM RP'd that they found her out eating some grapes and returned her to me. I cried again. The guild cheered.

    Was such an amazing time.

I love a lot about Elder Scrolls Online, but I don't think I could ever capture that same type of experience. Not because the guild people are crummy, I actually have some nice trade guilds with really helpful people. But because I don't think any mechanics exist to present such a scenario like I had in wow, this on top of never seeing a GM chat in ESO.

Both games have their pros and cons and I wish that there was communication between the two. Not to make them the same game, but to share experiences and implementing the little things, because the little things add up. Especially when it comes to making the customer/player feel valued. That GM made my day, heck made my week, heck made such an impression that here I am 16 years later talking about it.

I would absoutely LOVE to tame a pet on my warden (or sorc) and give them a name. Heck even if it was like a WOW warlock where the name is generated in game (but you can reroll for a different name).

I'd also like better control over what the pet attacks, but that is a UI issue (I always made simple macros that had /petattack and a separate one for /petpassive) and pulled them to the hot bar with keybinds.

But man...you and @ArchMikem have me REALLY wanting to play with an Atronach on my Warden now.
