We'll see I guess. But I'm already wondering why I'm still logging onto ESO after the vengeance "test".

I have a few characters who could pick up a line here or there for lore reasons, but in a lot of cases I designed my characters around their classes so it would feel wrong to throw out what they have.

My main may also need to pick up something for various progs, which I am not happy about. I like playing the way I know and I do use all three of my lines when doing content. If I have to, I have to, but I'd prefer Subclassing to be done in such a way that nobody has to.

That was one of the interesting things when Scribing released. The Crow even straight up says "No one would claim they're the most efficient, most reliable workings. But they're far more flexible than the average magecraft" when she talks about Scribing and that was what I liked about it - something that would be a tradeoff of raw power in exchange for flexibility of build. I thing Subclassing should work the same way, in that you can choose to have the power of a pure class, but be constrained by that Class's abilities, or to open yourself to a wider range of possibilities in exchange for some raw stats.
...unfortunately the current choice is "get nerfed lol" or "all of the power and none of the weaknesses," which is not exactly a good choice.

I will wait like 3, maybe 6 months after release for the next patch cycles, but if ZOS fails to correctly balance this and decide to just throw ''pure'' Classes under the bus I'll just go play something else.

Seeing as they can't seem to fully commit and finish major changes(Hybridization), even years after being implemented I'm just expecting that they will do another 180 in 2-3 years and I'm tired of them trying to reinvent the wheel.

I will wait and see what happens after the smoke clears; as a casual,it doesn't seem that exciting,for me anyway. Time will tell.

My characters' classes are a big part of who they are and have been for years now and I'm going to keep it that way.

I have 2 accounts with characters on both regional servers but only 3 of the 4 character rosters have one or more level 50 characters. Initially I'll probably limit subclassing to one or two new characters made for that purpose, but I may also apply it to one or two existing characters where there is duplication of builds.

I'm only going to use subclassing for RP purposes. Two of my characters are going to swap a skill line. Most of my characters are going to remain as their normal classes since other classes' skill lines aren't going to help their canons. More scribing grimoires would be better for that, for me.

I am going to experiment with it on an extra armory slot on my main.

If there is super OP stuff I will clear some easy achievements or get some easy stuff with it before it gets nerfed.

Depends upon what gets released to live. Right now I'm using easy to play Arcanist alts and One Bar Oakensoul alts for all of my trials/dungeons/overland. If the 171K parse on PTS I saw (Grave Lord/Herald of the Tome/Assassination) ends up making it to live, then all my current DPS builds will be way under performing and probably unwanted for playing with others. I will need a new easy to play build that doesn't require 120 actions per minute (APM) and performs closer to the new top builds. Hopefully there will be a new easy to play build, otherwise ZOS may have designed me out of ESO.

not all of my 20 PS EU characters have builds so i won't subclass on all either.

I am conflicted. I like the identity of the classes, and I honestly wouldn't want to mess with the whole fantasy. I'd still rather have a class change token than subclasses, but there's also a part of me that would love to experiment. Still, I know the price to pay will be: "Pure DK now sucks without X or Y skill line from another class."

I can't imagine a scenario in which I would continue to play eso without using subclasses.

I don't prefer the sublcass system and wish they wouldn't introduce it. But reality will not adapt to us, so we must adapt to it. If I continue to play when it becomes reality, I will adapt to it the same way I adapted to hybridization and the dozens of other disruptions the game has seen.

I have some characters I like just the way they are and will continue to use them as-is no matter what ZOS does in regards to nerfing any of the class skills, I’ll adapt without changing their class identity the way we always have to do when skills are changed.

I have some other characters who only use one or two of their class skill lines that I’m more open in trying a different direction with, such as my attempts at no-pet sorcerers and my frost warden.

And finally, I am considering making a brand new character that starts off with three different class skill lines from the beginning, something I normally wouldn’t have done until a new class came out because I currently have at least one character and in some cases more of every class. I’m just reading through these forum topics about sub classing in hopes of coming up with a good concept for that character. 🙂

Fully unlocking subclassing will mean leveling up 21 skill lines.

Assuming I'm playing still I'll be putting it on every character of mine that I am actively playing so that I can level the skill lines up faster.

It's going to likely take me months to fully unlock it.

After it's unlocked, I'll probably be using it on most if not all of my characters because I generally don't use a ton of class skills so it's likely most of my characters would be better off shifting one or more of the lines off towards something else.

I have like two in mind and I’ll probably be forced to subclass another 2. I know for sure 2 won’t be subclassed and it’s likely the rest won’t be either.
