First off we pay to play. So that means:
1. You need to have a monitor 24/7 watch this does not happen.
2. You need appear at reported sites to ban the bots.
3. If you say you can not tell which is a bot? Look at the train of players running the same line. Names like weetrwqs or eeretre also fit the bill.
4. I tried to report 5 bots now and get stuck on loading screen. They are masking the bots now so they cant be kicked. PS: /report does not work.
5. As a paying player if you do not do your job, I am sure I can find a MMORPG that would love to take the money I spend on you.
6. Please do your job. What we pay for you to do.

It's getting impossible to identify the names of bots now. They move too fast and in such numbers.

Maybe ZMO need to work on a way not of detecting bots but detecting players?

Players don't fly, they don't travel underground, they don't harvest 60 nodes a minute, they don't kill 30 a minute etc. Everyone else gets accounts suspended and then closed.

I dunno but things are completely out of control.

They did a token banning about a hour ago on the EU server. Guess how long they devoted of a GMs time? 15 whole minutes. They asked us to report the bots in that time but guess what, when I tried to contact GM Banhammer, they weren't responding! Great just great!

I gave you a LOL because I did laugh .. because it's my kind of dark humour. :)

While it's obviously impossible, as you clearly know ;) , it is actually a logical solution to the problem.

Hey our sub fees are not enough to pay for bots,or programmer's who can code well enough. And the fact ESO makes some items very gold dependent implies they are ok with it.

ESI should of made books all quest able, after all it is a quest able game. Horse could of been given as a reward of becoming a vet 5, or completing all three factions. Armor decay should be removed perm until they fix bots camping nods and dungeon bosses of epic proportion, in what case us users get five gold for killing a boss or no mats. But hey for a heavy quest driven game, they couldn't think to give us manageable and nice rewards for quest.

FFXIV did a great job at this, by the time you got to lvl 20, you knew how to craft, and did every basic thing n the game.

As s it bots see us players as people who will eventually buy gold from them and they are unbannable. ESO won't bann a botter, but hey how many players did they bann when wrongfully accused.

Someone should make a nice video of botters, I bet you we could get many hts over 1,000,000, if we make it funny.

There's a live stream of bots swarming from shrines and just falling from the sky (some going right underground) here.

EDIT - channel been closed by owner apparently but it was insane.

Everyone is complaining bout bots here and bots there, but no one is complaining bout buyers? Bots wouldnt be around if people didnt purchase their merchandise. Two way street.

Nonsense - people are complaining about the whole thing and putting forward suggestions. It's just that bots can be detected more easily. Buyers cannot. I hope there's going to be a mass banning of gold buyers along with botters.

Have no fear my friend zenimax will log on a GM for 15 mins on some random night this month. And fear not they will fix this, how you ask? they will remove the quest rewards from all quests lol.

This game is going down the shitter!

It's just playing whack-a-mole. The botters will have mapped all the exploits and will just move their operations to the next one. Failing that they'll be farming nodes and spawns.

I don't envy ZMO. But also - I would never have designed the game to be so bot-friendly in the first place either. They caused these problems themselves.

First, for those we can report, I suggest some power must be given to real players. Either a given number of reports sparks an automated temporary ban and/or some trusted players are given some minor GM powers.

Also, I suggest something that resembles CAPTCHA spam filters; I mean questions that bots cannot answer as they have no intelligence. It is tricky to implement and must not annoy real players, but they could be triggered under some circumstances, like killing the same mob x times, using a constant pattern of attacks, staying in the same zone for a long time, etc.

Of course, some behavior do not require any question, like excessive speed, being over/under the ground, etc.
  • bluntobjnub18_ESO
For bots doing non-combat quests at level 3 in coldharbor and other locations, I suggest implementing a limited PvP flag that would mark anyone under level 10 in a zone higher than the first two regular zones as an enemy. The level 3's porting into an area they should not be would also award XP, VP, and AP.

For overland farming bots I'd say hire a Filipino or Indian company to ban botters. Either that or get a governmental grant for job retraining and hire in the US at minimum wage for bot hunting.

Creative solutions are more interesting (and better PR) than technical fixes that will be overcome with programming changes.

Has anyone other than myself experienced the fact that games with mods also bring bots and exploiters? Besides if they wanted to find out who is doing the cheating all they'd need to do is gather the ip addresses clientside. Even dynamic ip addresses are narrowed by the region of origin.

Well from what I've read, most of ESO is run by the client computers instead of the servers, which facilitates hacks.

sure, sure it will...however, if this goes on a few more weeks normal players will leave. So I would call it even.

Has nothing to do with addons (not mods..) imo.

Lineage2 times, no addons of any kind. Bots swarming the game, exploits.. Nowadays almost all mmorpg have addons, and most have bots/exploits, but they are not tied to eachother.

Now for the IP, what would ZMO care to know botter identity? They cant sue them anyways, maybe some ninjas would do the job..

The only thing they need to do is banning so many accs they get very little proffit and ofcourse a stupid anticheat system that detects speedhacks and flyhacks at least, wich is anticheating guide 101!! You know the player position coords, you can calculate the speed they move at.

Bots are already flying thru obstacles with speedhacks, that means any player can do the same and lets say take all of the scrolls in 15mins.

It is the biggest problem in the game and it affect everyone with no exception. Developers should stop developing new content and show permanent solution to bots, because soon there will be no people left to enjoy the content they would release. Oh sorry maybe bots can enjoy it...

On the AD side of things today I ventured into a solo dungeon in Ghratwood. 50 bots running round in there. I reported 5 or so. Logged off for a few hours. Came back and still 50 or more there.

It is apparent that the problem is too large for Zenimax to solve [snip] The bot accounts are after all paying subscribers....
