As someone who plays tank in PvE so I can get groups faster, you really shouldn't be in first person view as a tank. You can't see all the other mechanics going on nearly well enough in first person view.

Crazy thought, switch to 3rd person view for dungeons.

Honestly, you'd be better off with nothing; ESO's fundamental combat design is just not compatible with the first-person view, and it's evident in the low quality viewmodel animations and lack of care in first-person effects.said no one ever wrote: »DeadlySerious wrote: »said no one ever wrote: »in first person view that spin-y bouncy thing sucks acid rock lava flows and i wish it would just STOP.

If you're a FPV-only tank, I'd just rather just have no tank lmao.said no one ever wrote: »Literally i'm doooooooooonne even trying to ask nicely, i just leave. Good luck finding another tank, i hope you can do it without one.

I would bet this came about because of the Arcanist skill Chakram Shield or its morphs. That effect does end up right in the middle of the screen in 1st person and rotates very quickly.
However... that's actually a really important skill for Arcanist healers, particularly since the Tidal Chakram morph is essentially the Resto skill Healing Ward but on three allies at once if cast with full Crux.
Essentially, the ask from OP is that they are so adamant about playing in 1st person that they'd prefer the healer only light attack the boss and not do any healing whatsoever, which I assume they mean that they expect the tank to be able to not only wrangle the boss and keep their own resources up, but that they will have to do so without heals, while also ensuring that the boss is positioned perfectly such that there are no damaging AoEs on the floor under the DPS or behind the group which can't be seen from 1st person. And, as is said in the OP, they're demanding that ZOS not release any bugfixes or patches until the game is optimized for 1st person for everyone.
Or, you know, everyone can just play in 3rd person like they're supposed to and not force the entire rest of the group to bend over backwards for one person.

I think there’s generally a misunderstanding as to what “play your way” means. I believe it’s more about the game having many types of content and classes aren’t locked into having certain roles or gear. It does not mean you can play every way and do every content that way. You need a viable build to do vet+ content and you cannot play first person all the time because you will be blinded by all the happenings in front of you and not be able to see your surroundings.

Honestly, except for a few activities, you shouldn't be playing in first person in this game. It sucks, because I enjoy skyrim and oblivion in first person, but in this game you miss too much if you play in first person. I only go in first person for my guilds scavenger hunts or to more closely investigate things.
tomofhyrule wrote: »This isn't the first time you posted a thread with this exact topic. And even in that first thread, you got the same answer: ESO is not intended to be played in 1st person.
Your analysis from the previous version of the thread was also somewhat flawed. You focused on what "shows character" or "players being nice to others" because they wouldn't consider stopping casting important skills on the chance that others were playing in 1st person. How dare others not change their playstyle to accomodate others! But ironically, you also are not even considering changing your playstyle for the benefit of the group, especially on a role like tank where one of the most important things is 360° awareness of what's going on around your character at all times.
I tank. I only tank. I stopped playing in 1st about a month after I started playing because of how important it was. Sure, I still play Skyrim in 1st person (and I even RP walk through the world because logically I wouldn't have the stamina to jog everywhere in heavy armor), but that's a single player game so my self-nerfs don't affect anyone else. ESO is not a single player Elder Scrolls game; 1st person was added to help bridge that gap, but the idea of stubbornly sticking to a self-nerf (and thereby affecting others) is no longer appropriate.
If you want to play ESO as a single player game, that's fine. ESO is actually one of the most (if not the most) single-player friendly MMOs out there, and it's perfectly acceptable to play solo your entire time. Go right ahead! But don't screw over others because you can't be bothered to accommodate their playstyle and then hypocritically argue that they're not trying to accommodate you.
I'll just leave what I said in the last edition of this thread:tomofhyrule wrote: »I assume the idea is just to not use specific skills at all, in case someone nearby is using first-person mode, though I have no idea what those skills may be.
