Worked good for me. Thx for this. Much better FPS in cities around 55 to 65 with other players and 100 FPS running around. Its so nice having both 660TIs running at 60 percent instead of tacking out just one

While there can be microstutter with AFR, that is the method that nvidia uses for SLI rendering no matter what you do, though there are some games that could use the older SFR but not many. SLI as used by Nvidia has nothing to do with Scan Line Interleave rendering other than the fact that Nvidia bought the rights to use the name from 3dfx when they went bankrupt. SLI currently means Scalable Link Interface when talking about Nvidia SLI.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalable_Link_Interface

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scan-Line_Interleave

Fair enough, I did get those two mixed up.

Your right that they still use a form of AFR, but the AFR 1 and AFR 2 options in the Nvidia Control Panel (AFR Friendly, and AFR 1x1 in AMD Catalyst Control Center) are the old AFR algorithms....the ones where GPU REders even Frames, GPU 2 Renders Odd Frames, etc.

AMD moved away from this and went to a "checkerboard" style of rendering because of the microstutter the old AFR can cause.

I am almost positive Nvidia has its own method for rendering if i remember correctly, I "think" its based on the top corners of the screen coming down like a cross....so its more optimized then the standard older AFR.

Nvidia SLI does well in the games they write profiles for, just like AMD Crossfire does well for the games they wrote profiles for,

Its just been my expereince with SLI and Crossfire that forcing AFR 1 or 2 without a profile from Nvidia usually doesn't perform well...even with higher FPS I can still notice micro-stuttering....I either have really good eyes, or im just effected by micro-stutter more then some people...my eyes just notice it....now my brother-in-law couldn't notice micro-stuttering if it was hitting him in the face.,,its kinda funny really.

Thanks for jogging my memory on SLI, your totally right on that account. :)

This worked for me. Thanks OP for forwarding the temp fix. My 560's now both are running at equal loads. Frames got kicked up to 100 in some areas. Awesome. Thanks

this method only improved my fps by 8-10fps. Single GPU gives me 43fps at lowest.

Still no date for when SLI will work?
  • james.resnerb14_ESO
FYI - OP may be using an older version of the Nvidia Control Panel:

    2. Scroll down and find Multi GPU rendering mode > change it to Force alternate frame rendering 2.

This does not exist for me; it's called SLI rendering mode.

That's what it is called in my panel as well.
2 x GTX 780, 95 fps in the cities (highly populated areas), 100+ elsewhere.

    So any fix for crossfire?
I am stuck at 20 - 30fps and I know my pc can do a lot more than that with this engine and bland textures.

It must be a problem with the 700 series, because I am getting 60fps, and lowest 40 fps with my GeForce gtx 690 4gb......mind you there are those times when unexplainably it drops to 10 (inside of a barn that has no enemies in there O.o)

My fps was always decent with one card but got fps drops with 2 (GTX 680s)

Tried this fix a few mins ago, and it worked. My fps is almost double. I used to get 60fps but it was less stable than now

    Drvier Ver 337.50

Has no profile update for ESO... yet it has another performance profile update for ESV:Skyrim...

I can see the same thing in Coldharbour. With SLI on + fix I saw 40 fps in some areas of Coldharbour, with SLI off - 50 fps there.

And at the same time the fps is great in Stonefalls/Deshaan?Shadowfen, 55 in cities and 80-100 in the wild with SLI fix on.

It seems like it's cut down my maximum fps and raised my minimum fps. I'd like to see it continuously running higher, but it is sharing the load, so I'll call it a win.

I was getting 25-80 fps before, now it's more 35-55, usually ~45. I'll see how it does once I get out of the city.

I tried this fix but it didn't really help. After this fix it shows 100 FPS in menu instead of 60, but ingame I'm still stuck with about 45 unstable FPS.
I have a GTX690 and 45 FPS is just mindboggingly low for my setup. I get 60 FPS if I look into the ground or something, but when playing the FPS just flies all over the place, like this game hasn't been optimized properly at all.

I guess we'll just have to wait for that fix from ZOE.

The fps dropped to 35-42 in cities for me all last days, 75 in the wild. Something went wrong again...
Oh, we need patch 1.1 and normal drivers from Nvidia.

Since the new patch is live, should the settings that were changed be reverted?

Update: I have disable the settings in NVIDIA control panel and the temp on one the cpu's of my GTX590 sky rocketed /cry. Setting was fullscreen
