What did you want in the next "ESOLIVE 10 April 2025 reveal"

    I think this is crucial to restore confidence in the game's direction. If they go though an hour long presentation and then say it will drop in June/July? Well, we've joked so often about how "the game has been dying for ten years," but it feels if they push this off several months, it might just become true.

    Personally, I'll play and stay no matter what as I feel I've invested too much money and time into the game to just walk away. I've taken breaks from the game when I get frustrated with things, but I always come back because the game feels like home to me. So, I'm not going to puff my chest out and say if I don't get x or y or z, I'm leaving. I understand how others might be at this point and have no issues with those who criticize the game, so I guess what I want from the reveal is for it to reassure and sooth the game's populace to make certain it is around for several more years.

    If I would work like that in my IT projects they´d fire me without a second thought. It´s not that we want a 5 years plan :-). I don´t think a feature list for this years seasons is asking to much.

    It´s fine to postpone for a bit if a feature is not ready by a fixed date but to release nothing or something instead of said feature is definitely not in the paying customers interest, especially if we can expect a further push towards ESO+ and maybe some kind of pass/season ticket.

    According to the new steam terms the frame for "beeing nebulous" is limited anyways:
    Valve have unveiled a new policy about season passes on Steam, which aims to ensure that developers release all the individual DLC involved on time and share adequate details about each DLC pack in advance. It specifies that developers can delay release of a season pass DLC just once, and by no longer than three months.

    They have a point here though.

    Obviously the vague “we have something for X coming!” is designed to create hype. That gets the forum talking and speculating and then we’re excited to see what’s coming. And then… it’s revealed, and there’s a massive disappointment. Of course the reveal could never live up to the speculation. It’s technically them promising “something” and then they deliver Y, so the players still demand X and Z since that was what they hyped themselves up for, but ZOS could be a bit more specific or temper expectations as well.

    Hmm… almost like how they’re hyping this April 10th reveal and are trying to let us all hype ourselves up. I’m sure this time it won’t backfire the same way it always does. (Especially this time since there are rumors of what’s coming that are already causing endgamers to want to quit)

    Granted, some of this is the playerbase - ZOS has said over and over that they can’t increase housing limits, so anyone who thought “housing feature” meant increased housing limits was setting themselves up for disappointment. But on the other hand, not many people hear “housing feature” and think “sanctioned version of a single part of an addon that most people in that community use.” Like, I’d never call an in-game ultimate share as a hypeable “PvE endgame feature!”

    Some directions would be nice. Of course they don’t want to spoil everything, but the long wait is just burning everyone out on speculation, and I can guarantee that whatever is revealed is going to disappoint people. And since the new monetization scheme is coming too, we know that that won’t be popular.

    Still they should promise us some things… and then deliver on them. People will be more likely to stick around if they can anticipate something than if they just get burned by speculation on repeat. Obviously they want to keep some surprises, but if there’s too much of a black box, people just speculate wildly and end up disappointed.

    I think any rework to CP system should come with a complete rework, new levels, etc. Tons of 3600 players running around nowadays, time to push it to 10400 or the next step so people can scale infinitely and become more powerful. If they announced a new CP system I'd be happy with that.

    Definitely want IA updates, maybe something to keep the regular gameplay loop from being too competitive too like more random events other than just marauders in stage2+, give us some stage 1 random events and rewards for em, Gw isn't enough.

    And the information on how overworld difficulty will change will be nice.

    For me it's the following...

    - You're obviously going to see some content drops etc but aside from that...
    - I really want them to lean into the insane momentum and positve energy that was vengence campaign. This is the first time in... I honestly can't recall.. when PvP had that much positivity surrounding it. The PvP community has been begging for content for so many years, even just bug fixes/performance improvements. I would absolutley love to see them "full send" into Cyro and just continue to make the good progress that they did this past week.

    Also want to thank every single person in the studio that had a part in this test. Whether it was some random person standing up and suggesting it, whatever it was, embrace these kind of ideas. Your teams creativity and individuality.. their ideas... all of it is what makes this game so good. Don't shy away from it... Try new things.. experiment with pvp or whatever/sets/ continue to rework sills/reduce calculations... then once it is improved have a brainstorming/planning weekend where you jsut let people bring their wild ideas to the table and then act on it.

    1. Updates on Vengeance, what's next to come
    2. I think, based on all the buildup in sea elf appearance options, that there's a possibility we'll get Maormer as a playable race. I'm definitely interested, but I don't think it would add much to the game besides flavor, and I'm not sure what the playerbase reception to this would be
    3. I want to see details on their plans to fix longstanding bugs and QoL improvements, which I'm pretty sure we're gonna be getting.

    That's about it. I don't think this is going to be some massive announcement, especially nothing of the scope in the OP, so best set your expectations lower.

    Honestly, what they've outlined is exactly what I want.
    • Overland to have some bite to it again so I don't just mow through everything without thought.
    • Combat Feel being tuned to not feel so... bleh.
    • An updated UI.

    I just don't want to have to wait years to get it. Combat feel and overland difficulty not being stupid easy has been a long time coming, and I'm stoked to see what they're going to be doing to tackle them.

    Though, if I can add a few things to the wishlist that are my own... these being largely quality of life...
    • Account wide recipe book/crafting motifs.
    • Account wide furniture recipes (Pretty please. I'm losing track of who has what)

    And... while we're really dreaming...
    • A refactor of the crown store and its pricing. Years of ESO Plus membership benefits and crown sales have effectively devalued the Crown to the point that the store's items can be ridiculously expensive. I'd love to see this addressed sometime.

    More small and medium sized homes
    More translucent windows
    The option to change house guest‘s clothes
    More options for housing in general

    New quests
    New regions to explore
    More farm animals as pets
    New textures for old regions…

    …and so on. But I doubt I‘ll get any of that.

    New weapons and new animations. Light attack overhaul. I know everyone loves being a metronome but its very very hard to sell people on this game when the main combat mechanic is essentially stand in one spot unless its red and go through the same skill rotation while clicking your metronome over and over.

    I would love something to make combat actually feel dynamic and engaging.

    They also need to revamp 5 piece bonus sets. Make some of them 3 piece or some variation. Too many sets are basically useless or too niche because you're expected to use BiS gear. If there were more 3 piece sets maybe people would wanna experiment more with sets that get 0 use.

    Finally I want some type of graphics overhaul for characters. The hair styles and character creation of vanilla eso is so awful. It looks barely passable on pc with max settings but on console everyone looks like they're made of clay and the facial animations are so bad. I'm not expecting baldur's gate here but some kind of improvement would breath new life into this game.

    The sad truth of ESO is it has so much potential to be a truly revolutionary amazing mmo and they let it just be kinda okay. It has some parts that are exceptional but it needs a lot of work and I'm not sure they even wanna put in the effort.

    For it to be held in January instead of April ---the distance between announcements and changes is too long often times, game updates may arrive underwhelming despite passionate suggestions for an item set overhaul, pvp balance, PVE and overland content difficulty addressed, and just general quality of life changes to class abilities and systems to make the game experience fun and engaging for all players

    ESO needs a faster cadence or changes based on tangible player feedback to create meaningful changes that drive gameplay value.

    I would like a professional presentation and not some half done, “we’re winging it” product. I mean seriously. Have you even seen how other companies present their product compared to ESO? It’s mind boggling that these people still have a job. Gina, I’m talking to you. I think you are way too comfortable and need to realize you could do much better and this community deserves much better.

    When people already having issues with current system as something "hard" or "button mashy" I doubt any attempt to make it even more dynamic and engaging would fail miserably in the largest outcry. People who aren't sold want Skyrim most probably which is more akin to no combat system and a slog, or are talking about actually modern combat from recent jRPG titles which is unrealistic to expect from ESO with stances, combos, precise motions and weight etc.

    I'd love more open communication, surveys, etc. from the developers with the community so that we can be closer to being on the same page for future additions to the game. Some changes are great while some seem to be very out of touch with the community. Implementing an in-game survey that can be accessed by every player to see player thoughts on possible future additions would be fantastic similar to OSRS. Relying on reddit or these forums would be a bad idea for that - it'd have to be in game.

    I'd also like a focus on more in-game earnable rewards rather than the over-monetization that's present currently in my opinion. Scale it back just a bit and add more earnable stuff for players.

    I'd also like to hear of future plans for the game and a longer term roadmap showing plans for the next few years due to the recent restructuring that we've seen and with Matt leaving the company.
