Recent Freezing/Stalling When Multithreaded Rendering Enabled

The multithreaded rendering feature has been fantastic with boost to performance and framerate stability. It has worked great for me since release.

However, recently I have been experiencing stalling/freezing in the game to the point that the CPU is so bogged down that audio starts buzzing due to the audio buffer not being filled in time.

I tried a full re-install of the game and removal of all addons and still experienced it. It seems to be resolved when I disable multi-thread rendering.

The only recent change I can associate with it is the Windows 11 24H2 launch which has had some conflicts with other games.

Is this a known issue? Any fix other than playing with poor performance with multi-threaded rendering disabled?

I have the same problem. In particular with the sound. This is what worries me the most, and the fact that mobs take a long time to load.

Write to tech support. They won't help you. They don't know what it is and how to deal with it, but if there are many such requests, maybe they will start to deal with this problem.

Do your sound problems look like this?

No, my issue seems to be different. The sound is a symptom of the freezing. The image freezes, computer becomes unresponsive, and then get the buzz due to the audio buffer not getting updated so it repeats playing the last milliseconds of sound over and over.

For kicks, I tried running ESO on windows 10 (the same settings and addons, the same install actually), and it does not happen on Windows 10. I can't test older Windows 11 release as I cannot downgrade and versions before 24H2 are no longer available.
