Should Surveys Be Account Bound, or Sellable?

I saw several inventories of other players with several hundred surveys, because for some players it's to time-consuming doing them. To unbound them, would flood the market with surveys, which will result in totally devaluing and destroying the resource market.

Zos could make it (like they did with jewellery and value of writs in Zenithar event) so that surveys collected previously were still bound but going forward were not. This would avoid the initial flood to the market.

I'm a little ambivalent about this idea. My character assigned to do surveys has a load of Alchemy, Jewellery, Clothing and Blacksmithing in his pack and does them a little ad hoc when I'm bored. I destroy enchanting (waste of time - rarely give Kuta and I'm set for years for the other stones) but woodwork are stored because I don't need the mats but I dislike waste and cannot bring myself to destroy them.

I'd love to be able to share the enchanting with someone who needs mats like my other account.

Nope. Gold Sellers would jump on them in a heartbeat.

I could see it now. Uncountable free accounts churning out daily writs for surveys.

    This right here.

Would it be that, or bots collecting the surveys themselves with no competition from other players?

I was going to select the option to let them be sellable but either of these is a good reason not to.

Actually, probably both if they became unbound/sellable.

While you can’t give surveys to an alt account, you can give the results of surveys to them.

I'm fine for them to be account bound.
I'd really like that when you have multiple for one location that you can do them all in one go, and not have it be a grind of collecting - riding away - riding back - collecting.

    Surveys Should be Sellable
I am not sure that bots or free accounts that exploit daily writs should be the player's concern. The devs should counter these, instead of having this annoyance with lots of surveys. But as an alternative, I would exchange them for vouchers or some account bound resource, like transmute crystals or a bag with goodies. Also I would like to have housing guest hireling which could be sent to complete the survey as a quest.
(I am not lazy... and have no issue doing the surveys, but during some seasonal events, these really pile up)

As a sidenote... you don't even need to log out and back in. Just preview or fast travel a house that you don't own, exit immediately, and voila, spawn reset.

Used to ride a bit away and then come back to have them respawn. The size of their cells is about what you would see with an anitquity lead on the Map. Some are small and some are bigger. Most of the time its just around the corner.

Have to try your method next time.

I will warn that I was using the "teleport to preview version of home" for farming surveys, but last few times I tried it in the past two weeks, the server would kick me out to the main login screen after a few times. Guess ZOS didn't like people using houses no one's paid for in that way. :p

So now, I do this when a survey's respawn is too inconvenient to activate by running away and back: I teleport to a housing preview no more than three times. On the fourth, I go into Imperial City instead. When you leave Imperial City via the Exit door, it'll put you right back where you were before you started your illicit housing tour. Rinse and repeat as many times as needed. Sometimes I'll deliberately tab out and do something else for a few moments so I don't look like I'm botting doing this sequence over and over. I trust ZOS's bot detection tactics about as much as I trust Cookie Monster in a Girl Scout cookie bakery.

(There's one jewelrycrafting survey that is SO annoying, I did this cycle for six straight hours to use up my 67 surveys. I could've knocked it out in probably well under one hour if I could've just run away and back to it, but you have to go to the moon and back to make that stupid survey respawn. And there's deep water, un-jumpable rock walls, and crocodiles everywhere interfering with a quick and easy respawn. I wanna meet whoever designed this survey. Just to talk, I swear. :D )

I don't have strong feelings about sellable surveys, other than concerns about bots being bots. But as someone who loves picking up treasure maps and surveys and leads, I wish we could sell our services via an in-game store the way we sell items through traders. Someone could make a listing where they put up their surveys/maps/etc. and whatever gold they're willing to pay, and if the amount offered was to my liking, I could take the job and harvest the items for them within a specific amount of time (or the listing and its items go back on the market). Upon doing that, the harvested items would automatically go to them, and the gold to me. But that sounds like something that would be waaaaaaay too complicated for ZOS to even try to implement—not to mention how some people would immediately try to grief or exploit the system—so it remains a fun dream.

It's more likely that you got disco'd during the server instability issues (malicious attacks) over the past few weeks, which often hit players the hardest when they're zoning.

I still use the housing preview method for many reasons in game. Resetting containers for furnishing plan farming, refreshing my CP passives after a armory build swap, returning to my starting location after entering a house I do own, etc.. and I do it often enough that if ZOS had any preventative measures in place, I'd definitely trigger it. But I'm not having issues with it, other than when there have been server instabilities.

Considering I will simply delete them at times, I wouldn't mind them being sellable or giftable.
