I've received numerous messages across my comments, Discord, TikTok, and other platforms asking:

"Hey, when are you coming back to stream and create ESO content again? We need the builds!"

My honest answer? Not until they address the game's current performance issues.

For context, my setup includes:

GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5090 (32GB GDDR7, full ray tracing) CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 7 9800X3D Memory & Storage: 64GB DDR5 RAM, dual 2TB NVMe SSDs Internet: 1 gig upload & download speeds

And despite all of this, I'm still experiencing terrible performance in ESO. Until these issues are properly fixed, I just can’t justify returning to create content for the game.

The game can act weird in terms of performances sometimes.

    I have a 3070Ti, a R7 3700x, 32Go DDR4 3600Mhz, SSD NVMe, etc.

For years my framerate was crashing after 1h ingame. I was going from 100+ fps to 10-15 fps. Had to reload lui to fix that.

I tried to uninstall/reinstall like 3 times in the exact same conditions and it was doing the same thing. The when I tried this a 4th time, it fixed everything.

I still don’t know what happened, and why it was suddenly fixed. And ZOS support wasn’t able to help me on this.

I've tired uninstalling atleast 50 times in the last week, half the time with no add-ons and still horrible

Weird, my PC has lower specs than that and I run it at maximum settings, HDR, no upscalers for years and never have any issues (EU), not even during events or dolmen with loads of people with their companions and pets.

To me it feels like client performance is pretty good these days and I have a much older PC build. The main performance problem for years has been on the server side. In that case, your specs and internet speed don’t matter, it’s something ZOS has to get figured out on their end.

I can not speak for @Unfadingsilence , but I do not feel or observe that their posting of their PC specs is to brag in anyway shape or form, but rather to illustrate and give credibility to their post in that they are not running a potato PC that one would expect issues on. Rather, they are running top tier gear that most likely represents a small portion of the player base at the high end of PC performance...and even with that, and their insane fast speeds, the game still runs terribly.

In PVE, I don't see as many issues, but PVP is literaly unplayable. Let me say that again LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE. What I mean by that is as of this latest update, I can go from full health + Shield to INSTANT DEAD without even seeing the player. I am litterly running in a BG, then falling over dead as if someone has a kill switch for my character.

We have plenty of other content creators that are making good guides, so if you don't want to do content anymore then that is up to you. Other than some random disconnects and rubberbanding here and there, ping randomly going to 330, I have not had any issues with the game. I play in PVE and Cyr and it's playable.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share some insights that might help those struggling with lag and performance issues in ESO. I've been investigating these problems for about a year now, as I’ve also experienced severe performance drops out of nowhere.

Through trial and error—testing three different ISPs, multiple hardware setups, and working with ZoS—I’ve learned that most performance issues are likely caused by packet loss. There is a lot of good conversation going on in the lag thread here.

How to Check for Packet Loss

You have two main options to determine if packet loss is causing your issues:

Follow the steps outlined in this thread: Rubberbanding, disconnects, or high ping? Start here.
Use a simplified add-on created by @Jestertoo: WinMTR.

What to Do If You Detect Packet Loss

If you notice significant packet loss, try running a ping test to Google DNS (8.8.8.8) over multiple days. Take screenshots or log your data to identify trends. Once you’ve gathered enough information, contact your ISP and request that a network engineer investigate where the packet loss is occurring. In my case, the issue was with a third-party provider used by my ISP, and I had to push my ISP to escalate it.
    How ESO Handles Packet Loss

ESO reacts to packet loss by causing rubberbanding. If the client and server desync, the game has a limited buffer before disconnecting you. One trick I’ve found useful is that when I notice packet loss (e.g., things stop moving in-game), I immediately stop moving and casting skills. Continuing to act just adds more data to the backlog, increasing the chances of getting kicked. Instead, take your hands off the keyboard/controller and wait for the game to catch up.

    Final Step

If you haven't already, take a moment to fill out this survey to assist in the ongoing performance investigation.

    Hope this helps!

Don't want to take away from my above post but... you've got a ton of add-ons going on. That isn't helping. I know I know I know... don't get mad at me... just pointing it out. Add-ons dramatically increase the above performance issue I just mentioned.

Not compared to pre U35. ESO lost most of it's content creators when or shortly after U5 dropped. Now there's only a handful left and they're relatively new to the content creation scene.

Ya know there was a time when this community rallied together and calling out the problems in this game to a point where all voices echoed the same thing. We have said for Years to fix Cyro. This game was literally marketed as “the best PVP 300 vs 300 vs 300

Now when a player posts problems about the game other gamers are basically telling them to shut it or go leave then.
    Wow

    Just wow

Fellow players, calling out issues that are driving gamers away and then telling them to go pack sand isn’t going to fix the situation this beautiful game is in.

And now so many players have left the game bc of the state it IS in. ZOS. You may be a day late and a dollar short with these “changes” you are about to implement.

My guild came back to ESO only to try out this new Cyro you have planned at the end of the month. My hopes are high. We will see.

Except I am not a content creator, I do not have a public persona/presense, I do not make money playing this game and yet I experience the same issues the OP is talking about.

I am not going to conjur up a conspiracy theory on @Unfadingsilence motives, simply because what they are speaking rings scarily true to me.

I don't see someone promoting their channel (who is not even doing content for this game right now), instead I see someone concerned about the performance of the game and its not-so-good state.

If there is a problem with your setup, it is that all the add ons and pvp are making it cpu bound. You are probably trying to encode and stream as well.

9800x3d has half the mt perf of a workstation like a 14900k.

This is an instance where a 9800x3d is wrong cpu for the job. As a streamer you should have got a 285k or 9950x3d. Also, there is evidence the 5090 drivers still need a ton of work.
