At this moment I have this bug, and I know that I can't log in for 1 hour minimum. Too bad that I have a trial in few minutes and 11 persons are waiting for me to enter... I've had this bug few nights ago, and I had to stay out the game for 1 hour. I tried to repair the game (twice), I tried to change server (EU-NA), I tried to clear the Steam cache... NOTHING.
I know the reason.
The reason is the event.
The pvp event and Cyrodiil that is too full of people and ESO servers are not suitable for these kind of events.

I doubt they will respond within 7 minutes on the weekend, and it may be tomorrow that you will get a response. Most of them, including Kevin, have the weekend off. Hopefully, someone will be around who can provide worthy assistance before then.

This happens without the event as well, but the time seems to be 5-15 minutes. It’s happened to multiple people.

Have you tried restarting your computer? Sometimes that is the only thing that fixes this error for the people in my trials groups. Sometimes it doesn't work even then, but it is worth a try.

Better, I've changed the pc... but nothing. When this bug hits... nothing works

I understand yours is happening for around an hour, but my point is that it's not just you it's happening to, and it's been happening irrelevant of the event (I don't recall when it started but it must be months now). While most people experience a shorter timer, I think the shared experience implies that the core of the problem has nothing to do with you or the event and everything to do with ZOS' servers and the kicks that keep happening.

Edit: The 5–15-minute timer me and friends get could be because of our location, platform, or server, since we're all on PC/NA.

I got this "unexpected error" today with my alt, which is through Steam, and neither restarting Steam nor trying a different PC worked. It was working fine yesterday.

I then logged onto the account management page on the ESO website, and I noticed that the name of the linked Steam account was wrong. The linked account name started and ended with the correct letters of my Steam account name, but it was missing a couple of letters in the middle of the name, almost as if some weird data corruption deleted a couple of letters from the middle of the name.

I unlinked the Steam account and relinked it, and then after waiting several minutes, I was able to finally log into the game.

I crashed from a bg and started getting this. I ended up restarting after ipconfig /flushdns didn't work. Restart didn't help though, but eventually it must have cleared up and I could get back in. Took way too long to get back in to not get the penalty though.

The error message is tied to the server.

Sometimes depending on what you are doing, the server needs to "Catch Up" and will prevent you from logging back in until its finished processing that said data.

Usually happens when I have either been in Cyrodiil for more than a couple of hours or if I have changed zones lots while farming.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it but just wait.

Hopefully, they will get on this quickly tomorrow. As I said, they are pretty much off for the weekend. I am surprised they did not have someone on to address things since this event is more likely to have issues come along with it.

I don't think the linked Steam account is relevant. My linked Steam account is correct. And this bug is happening to a lot of people I know in guilds...
