So you're saying you prefer 10 sweetrolls furnishings and 1k worth items rather than Crown crates, which could potentially offer you legendary mounts and collectibles... because you know exactly what you'll receive?
Yes.
I should point out that you are responding to someone who had more than 300 unopened Crown Crates at one time.katanagirl1 wrote: »JiubLeRepenti wrote: »

Yeah, because that is not what we are going to receive. It’s going to be food, potions, and tattoos.
Then why do I often see people celebrating the receiving of a legendary mount or a pet from Crown crates?
And even if you don't get any mounts, food, potions and tattoos will have a better value than a few furnishings that worth 500-2.000 gold. And you can also exchange them for crown gems and buy valuable items with them.

As a grizzled eso veteran the login rewards don’t hurt me at all. They’re a free bonus to use as I want and destroy the rest. It’s not that serious.
I do wish there were more crown tripots though. I guzzle those like water in pvp.

In this thread there are plenty of people saying that daily rewards have little/no value, while in the thread where extended maintenance is discussed, there are plenty of people complaining about having to lose one daily reward, as if it were the most important thing in the game.
Frankly, I don't understand, it's contradictory.
In my opinion, daily rewards are not the most important thing, if I lose one... never mind, it's not a problem.
However, as a whole, they have a certain value. And if most of the time I'm forced to throw away what I receive because it's not usable by a veteran player (for example riding lessons), I'm sorry.
Of course, it's not my main focus, however I think the topic deserves a little more in-depth analysis.
Thanks to @ZOS_Kevin who responded.

How is it contradictory for a person to state they don't care about daily rewards and another person to complain about missing one?

The contradiction is that the majority of people who reply to the thread, on one hand say that they are not interested in daily rewards, while on the other hand the majority complain immensely about the loss of just one daily reward. If you read carefully what I wrote, you will understand that the contradiction is in this.

Different groups of people, so hardly contradictory.

Don't you wonder why different groups of people feel like replying in that specific thread and not in the other one? Why most of those who don't care about daily rewards bothered to reply here and not in the other thread? and vice versa. That's the meaning. Maybe a little less pragmatism would help you understand what I mean :-)

To be fair, veterans never had them in the first place.
I think many people are becoming a little bit... well... let's just say this...
- when I started playing this game 10 years ago, there was no daily rewards
- as a vet player, I'd love even more tri-stat pots... beats having to buy/farm that columbine
- the research scrolls ... annoying as they are for my main... are helping my other alts very nicely
Even for "vet" players, the daily rewards are not necessarily wasted. And that's ignoring, that they're overall helpful for new people who've never played this game before.
Maybe we should just be happy for the rewards other people can get, and even happier if we like them also.
Maybe think of the daily rewards as a charity donation, rather than a payment for logging in?
I could, if I really wanted to be whingey, complain as a (long time) master fisher, the recent event made getting that achievement so easy, or having done the 150 dailies for the Murkmire achievement which was then "normalised" to the 5/15/30 ratio... but nah, good for the people joining the game after me... I was one of those ones complained that 150 over 7 quests was really too much... ZOS fixed it... I feel the same about the daily rewards.
At the end of the day, if you've played the game for so long you have everything, what else do you want?
