I like the furniture. I prefer it to the loot boxes. I know what I am getting.

So you're saying you prefer 10 sweetrolls furnishings and 1k worth items rather than Crown crates, which could potentially offer you legendary mounts and collectibles... because you know exactly what you'll receive?

    Yes.

I should point out that you are responding to someone who had more than 300 unopened Crown Crates at one time.

Yeah, because that is not what we are going to receive. It’s going to be food, potions, and tattoos.

Then why do I often see people celebrating the receiving of a legendary mount or a pet from Crown crates?

And even if you don't get any mounts, food, potions and tattoos will have a better value than a few furnishings that worth 500-2.000 gold. And you can also exchange them for crown gems and buy valuable items with them.

I only accumulate enough gems to buy the cheapest items. I also have 30k Endeavors to buy those same items.

I remember when there was no Daily Rewards at all. Happy for whatever they give, and what I don't want I get rid of.
This doesn't 'hurt' veterans at all.... would they prefer to have no rewards whatsoever then....

I'm sorry but I don't get how folks can be so picky and negative about free stuff being given. Just don't get it.

And to now want a choice? Just seems over the top and perhaps a bit greedy? I'd rather devs and such spend time on other things than coming up with something like that, just my opinion.

Values of Gold / AP / Tel Var need increasing. 5k is absolute poverty, can’t even buy a single Dreugh wax for that. Should be 10 x that value at least. This isn’t 2008, Tamriel is in a cost of living crisis.

In this thread there are plenty of people saying that daily rewards have little/no value, while in the thread where extended maintenance is discussed, there are plenty of people complaining about having to lose one daily reward, as if it were the most important thing in the game.
    Frankly, I don't understand, it's contradictory.
In my opinion, daily rewards are not the most important thing, if I lose one... never mind, it's not a problem.
However, as a whole, they have a certain value. And if most of the time I'm forced to throw away what I receive because it's not usable by a veteran player (for example riding lessons), I'm sorry.
Of course, it's not my main focus, however I think the topic deserves a little more in-depth analysis.

I find the repair kits, the tri-pots and any free Tel Var/AP useful to me, gold is a nice bonus but I make plenty of it. The crown meals I find useful only on pre-50s and hardly ever use poisons so those get stowed in most cases. Crown refreshing drinks and survivor potions are useless to me so I just chug the former and trash the latter.

I would like those crown crate loot boxes and other pets, and comettcs, etc from previous years to come back for players who have missed the chance to get them. i didnt install the game until jan 2018 but didnt start playing until august 2018. until breaking in march 2019 and returning in july/august 2019. I missed alot and most of them were good.

The contradiction is that the majority of people who reply to the thread, on one hand say that they are not interested in daily rewards, while on the other hand the majority complain immensely about the loss of just one daily reward. If you read carefully what I wrote, you will understand that the contradiction is in this.

Don't you wonder why different groups of people feel like replying in that specific thread and not in the other one? Why most of those who don't care about daily rewards bothered to reply here and not in the other thread? and vice versa. That's the meaning. Maybe a little less pragmatism would help you understand what I mean :-)

Of course not. Different people always select different threads to post to.

Daily rewards are fine without micromanaging "extras".

I understand the need to help those who are just starting to play ESO, however this should not happen at the expense of veterans. I think that a choice between two items should be introduced, regarding daily rewards. This way everyone could choose the one that best suits them.

To be fair, veterans never had them in the first place.

I think many people are becoming a little bit... well... let's just say this...

    - when I started playing this game 10 years ago, there was no daily rewards
    - as a vet player, I'd love even more tri-stat pots... beats having to buy/farm that columbine
    - the research scrolls ... annoying as they are for my main... are helping my other alts very nicely

Even for "vet" players, the daily rewards are not necessarily wasted. And that's ignoring, that they're overall helpful for new people who've never played this game before.

Maybe we should just be happy for the rewards other people can get, and even happier if we like them also.

Maybe think of the daily rewards as a charity donation, rather than a payment for logging in?

I could, if I really wanted to be whingey, complain as a (long time) master fisher, the recent event made getting that achievement so easy, or having done the 150 dailies for the Murkmire achievement which was then "normalised" to the 5/15/30 ratio... but nah, good for the people joining the game after me... I was one of those ones complained that 150 over 7 quests was really too much... ZOS fixed it... I feel the same about the daily rewards.

At the end of the day, if you've played the game for so long you have everything, what else do you want?

And just follow-up on my previous reply... if the dev team was going to prioritise their effort on anything, I'd rather they fixed the combat bugs, set balance issues, and whatnot ... rather than spend time messing around changing the daily reward system.

No one here complains because others get things easily where the "vets" may have sweated for them. Where does this completely off-topic thing come from? It doesn't even have a shred of relevance to the thread. If you want to read what I said, understand that I only proposed a system that provides a choice. So you could write all this poetry in another thread that you want to open, but it has no place here, sorry. I thank you anyway for your profound observations. They are certainly noble and impeccable. Too bad it's off-topic.

Potions, repair kits, mimic stones, little bits of currency, and exp scrolls are all items of equivalent daily value as food, research scrolls, and mount leveling but more broadly usable.

Between events, endeavors, daily login rewards, and golden pursuits.... there are a lot of stuff that gets given out doing both easy and hard activities. It's a good mix.

As for rewards. The only ones I have trouble using are poisons, been using the drinks for overland and leveling.
