Fishing achievements

First and foremost, the only information I want out of this current event is how many people are getting Master Angler for the first time, and how many fish (both white and trophy) get caught. I know you have that info Zos, @ZOS_Kevin tell them what the people (or at least, I) want!

I am really enjoying the curated fishing, however I am also enjoying some of these DLC zones, and want a reason to come back for them.

I would like really, really like curated fish to stay for good, and for these small changes to be made that would encourage people to keep fishing.

Solution 1: "Pulled from the depths"

This achievement already exists in Necrom, just add an achievement for all DLC zones
( except maybe Imperial City because it would SUCK ) for a chance of a zone enemy to be yoinked up, for a chance at dropping purple loot, be it motifs, zone gear, patterns, whatever. Your chance at getting this enemy goes up the more fish you have from the zone, and if you have the zone Angler achievement the chance of this enemy goes up even higher

Solution 2: Fishing dailies! Add another NPC near the world boss, delve and incursion daily quest givers in DLC zones, and this one operates a little like the ToT daily quest in that to complete the quest you just need 1 trophy fish, but if you get multiple fish you get better rewards. Same loot pool for the coffers as the other 3 NPCs. Maybe make a small, 5 point achievements for doing 1, 3 and 5 quests for these NPCs.... just something to do while you try and get the "Pulled from the depths" achievement above.

I have two more accounts to get master fisher on, but I have too much else to do right now, so ain't hap'nin. I don't mind fishing without the curation anyway.... it's something I do to relax and chill, and I don't care how long it takes me.

Other than that - I have zero interest in achievements, so if they were added I'd never pay any attention anyway; and in other games with fishing dailies I just couldn't be bothered, and I'm pretty sure that would be the same for here.

The only other reason to fish is to get perfect roe, anyway (other than that it's just relaxing and fun for me the way it is).

    Oh and ONE MORE THING

Harpooner's wading kilt should attract trophy fish.

You have to fish for one lead, another drops from water-based alchemy nodes, and one is CALLED A LURE.

No to the curated fish staying (see other thread suggesting the same thing for the discussion there). No to more achievements that want you to do the same activities you completed ages ago. No to dailies. There are too many of them already.

I'd rather ZOS work on actual new content and fixing bugs.

(I'll be glad when this event is over so we don't have all the "change fishing" requests from players who hardly fished before and now want it to be made so easy that it would be meaningless. Fishing with non-curated fish is already super easy. It's decent RNG, and you have ways to up the RNG, unlike other activities.)

Zos seems hell-bent on adding achievements whether we want them or not. Survey achievements? Class achievements???? Why do these exist??? They may as well add some fishing achievements.

I have seen hundreds, if not thousands of people fishing, especially in base game zones during this event, and lots of chatter in zone chat about how nice the curated fish are. I think if it encourages more people to participate, it is good to keep.

Or we can say we don't want any more meaningless achievements, rather than encouraging them to add more.

I think it's great that they did this for the event. I took advantage of it myself in IC. Like most events, it brings out more players. But that doesn't mean they should make it permanent. The only fun with fishing is seeing if you hooked the fish you need. Take that away because it's guaranteed and they might as well remove fishing from the game.

We disagree on this, which is fine. I just don't get why some players want an activity that's already really easy to be made so easy that it'll be meaningless. I'd rather ZOS improve the punishing RNG in other areas, like antiquities leads and really rare drops. Fishing is already so easy, and there are ways to make it even easier (food, champion points, Sharp), that it doesn't need to be made completely brain dead.

The only times I’ve ever fished in ESO is when I was going after Thrassian Stranglers, during New Life, and during this event. Thanks to this event I got Master Angler in every zone. I used every fishing buff available to me - food, green cp actives, and Sharp’s buff. At first, I said I wish rare fish were always curated. But now that it’s over, I’ve relaxed my stance on that somewhat because I realize now what kept me from doing it all these years was the overwhelming number of zones I would need to do it in, and there’s just so many more things in the game I enjoy doing than fishing that I would always wanted to have gotten it done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Now that I’m past that point I believe if they added a zone with a new Angler achievement I could manage one or two zones a year without curated fishing. Someone suggested having a mythic item also increase the chances of rare fish. How about a mythic item that makes rare fish curated only while you wear it?
