Suggested balancing for an invisibility scribing skill, it it ever happens

High cost, long duration.

(Quick and easy I’d assume just as a special Focus Script for Soul Burst that converts it to a self-centered effect with no AoE)

NB would have a niche at having a much more flexible skill that has less resource penalization if it’s broken early, that provides a unique Crit buff (and triggers Major Resolve)

If we get a Scribing Invisibility spell, I hope we also get a Scribing Detect spell to counter it. I like the idea, though!

I sincerely hope this will happen. I think that they may even do this exactly like how NB cloak used to work (casting every 3 seconds). Just so everyone could try it out & realize how unreliable it is lol.

Imagine people adding detection effect to their sneeze... XD Exactly what this game needs :joy:

Yeah. IMO the detect would be another focus script for Soul Burst to provide opportunity cost. Possibly leveraging the multi-target focus simply to make the AoE larger as a “pseudo detect” through a large but slightly less damaging direct AoE.

Though it’s possible they could add a self-buff soul skill eventually that’s all about applying a major/minor effects, though that would need a multitude of new scripts for those effects.

It’d probably also be nice to up the range of things like mage light and hunter to 10m

We do need to wait and see how stealth is handled in the upcoming PvP test though, and what their design philosophy is going forward.

Heh. If Soul Burst leveraged the Multi-Target Focus like so:

Becomes a channeled ability (interruptible), can channel for up to two seconds, increasing the damage, cost, and range up to threefold (tap for regular stats), that’d be kinda cool. (Maybe a tad too much range though).

    I'd love an invisibility Grimoire.
if long duration is 60 seconds or more, then that'd be wonderful

60s seems excessively long with current comparable skills.

Hmm. The problem with a Grimoire is that the scribing system is meant to be modular with a variety of effects.

Invisibility as an effect is fairly set in stone.

But maybe even ignoring scribing they could add it as a standalone skill to the dark brotherhood(magicka)/thieves guild(stamina) skill lines? They do seem keen on revisiting that content.

These ones could even explore a new type of standard that could necessitate positioning requirements: casting within a given range of players/npc’s and the spell fizzles as you fail to elude their gaze. (Essentially an AoE check if there are entities within a certain radius, possibly a take on the chameleon effect?)
