Hi all, just wanted to follow up quickly here. We are looking into why the NVIDIA App does not automatically add the ESO "direct form ZeniMax" client. Currently investigating and will update once we have more info.

Based on what I've read from others and my own testing, the standalone "ZOS version" of the client is no longer detected as it itself depends on "steam_api64.dll" and has that file included. The NVIDIA app hides any potential "ZOS version" of the game client that has this DLL file to avoid duplicate entries showing up for Steam users (as it would detect Steam installations as both the "ZOS version" and the "Steam version").

So seems that as a workaround, one might be able to rename the file "Zenimax Online\Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\steam_api64.dll" and the Nvidia app will find/detect the game. However, to finally launch the game, one would have to rename the file back to the original name, as the game requires it to be present, but that might once again screw with the detection.

this actually did make the game recognizable by nVidia app, and I was able to launch the launcher through nVidia app, but when I clicked play, it wouldn't play without the steam_api64.dll. I am trying an experiment: I moved the steam_api64.dll, launched the launcher through nVidia APP, then moved the steam_api64.dll back, and hit play. I will play for an hour and then see if I get the mount.

    this worked

regardless of the fact that this is a great promotion if it doesn't even work well for nvidia players who don't play via Steam,
It looks like there are no codes left because they were limited

I don't play PC so I never had access to this to begin with, but the fact that the rewards were not only time-gated but also had a limited amount of them total is a really strange decision. This is just more FOMO that people hate.

UPDATE: THIS HACK ALLOWED ME TO GET THE MOUNT EVEN THOUGH I BOUGHT THE GAME THROUGH THE WEBSITE. @ZOS_Kevin For anyone who tries it click play again in the nVidia app once the game is launched, this will cause the launcher to display "Running" which may be necessary for nVidia app to recognize that you are in a gaming session.

Nvidia’s site says that Nvidia hardware is required for this promotion, which makes their choice to include it on the GeForce NOW Rewards page very misleading if these are indeed not rewards that can be acquired through that service.

@ZOS_Kevin can you confirm if this was meant to be available through NOW or only on PCs with Nvidia hardware? Several previous ESO partner promotions with Nvidia did not require an Nvidia card.

Thank you, the first actual answer for this thread haha.
Sorry I'm just so frustrated, had so many people ping me telling me to use something I CAN'T use and been wasting my time with this crap, ugh...

At this point those of us running the ZOS client should be given the mount. What a debacle...

Same boat. They did that with the previous promotions as well. If you bought directly from the ESO site, you get nothing. lol

Basically ZOS got more money from you (because Epic/Steam take 30 percent) and you get punished by getting less from them. That's life.

So basically "sorry you've been here ten years, sucks to be you."

    Nice.

Because the announcement says we can use GeForce Now, so your hardware shouldn't matter, but that's not true, so it's false information.

Because the promotion is also running on their NVIDIA GeForce Now platform. That is their gaming in the cloud platform, and does not, according to their own words require a NVIDIA GPU.... Just that you stream the game from their cloud for a 1 hour session.

I have a GTX1080, but i am on Linux, so no NIVDIA App nor GeForce Experience for me. Only GeForce Now aka game streaming.

This should also work for coop500: he also used GeForce Now game streaming.

And no i don't have received a code either yet.

Hi all, for those that are having issues with the NVIDIA Lan mission, we are checking in with them to make sure everything is working properly. In the meantime, if you do not want to wait, you can submit a ticket to our customer service team. Please note the promotion and they should be able to assist you in the short term for the mount.

Well, I tried to open a ticket (250106-002930) and referenced this post Kevin (I play ESO through the ZOS client), and they pretty much told me I'm out of luck because I don't own ESO through Steam or Epic. :( I'm really disappointed that this promo is so strangely limiting. I own an NVIDIA card, I own ESO, but because I didn't buy it arbitrarily though another store like Steam or Epic I can't participate?

I am just getting the run-around. Contacted ZOS Support twice with no help, just was told to contact Nvidia support, and they didn't help either. They said I qualified but that the rewards are not guaranteed and it's like a damn random chance raffle thing rather than a proper promotion. What a scam from Nvidia.

Feedback: I have an Nvidia GPU and the app, and already have an Nvidia account and this still sounds like far too much hassle for the reward, far more than is normally required for Nvidia promotions.

If I've understood the thread correctly I need to:
    1. Log into my Nvidia account in the app.
    2. Find and rename a file on my computer to trick the Nvidia app into thinking I bought the game through Steam.
    3. Rename the file again to be able to launch the game.
    4. Play for 50 continuous minutes.
    5. Contact Customer Support and ask them to manaully validate the above information because the two programs still won't 'talk' to each other.
    6. Wait for a response telling me I'm not eligible and then link to this thread and quote other members of the customer service team back to their own colleagues to explain they've had to make an exception.
    7. Wait for them to send me the code, hoping there's one left by the time I've proven my worth.
    8. Log into my ESO account and apply the code.

And the reason for all this, compared to the usual process of just logging into the app and claiming a code, is because this part of the 10th anniversary celebration wasn't designed to accomodate 10 year old copies of the game.

Why put a reward that not everyone can access on the official roadmap? The issues with it not even working properly for many PC users notwithstanding, console users don’t even get a look in at all, so why is it on a roadmap.
It’s just an NVIDIA promotion in collaboration with eso, not an actual thing for all ESO players.
This feels like a bad portent for things to come if you need to pad out the roadmap with tangential promotions that not everyone can even attempt to access.

So Nvidia App finally showed ESO but I have been playing today (day off) all morning for a few hours and launched ESO using the PLAY button from the Nvidia App and still nothing hours later shows up under the Redeem tab. If you're going to run promotions like this, make sure it works. I don't care if this is ZOS' side or Nvidia's, or both, but this needs to be working before you run the promotion lol.
