Also having this issue and a colleague of mine as well. Its very often impossible to switch between your bars or it just takes a while till it switches, or just switches then 2-3 times at once. Often I just do not switch because I know its not really working and use only one bar.

Also very annoying are those cast animations. For example with "Crystal Fragments (Playing a mage). It takes at least 3 seconds after casting till i can use another skill or change the weapon bar.

I really cannot understand why this is still happening and not fixed. A combat sytem which is not really working or only responding very slowly or after hitting the button a 2nd or 3rd time is a major issue and needs to get fixed ASAP.

I dont know how often I died because of this. Rightnow I am playing on VR4 and the enmies are getting stronger and stronger, without having a working/fluent combat system its no fun anymore...

Just have a look at Guild Wars 2. There the weapon swap works nearly perfectly. I had a mage there as well and had !!4!! bars, at least with this class.

Think there are 2 problems mixed in this thread...

1) connection issue - latency and packet lost is the reason for having issue with slow swapping weapons, skills not firing or firing multiple times after few secs etc.

2) UI focus issue - there is serious UI focus issue introduced about 2 weeks ago. In some cases game thinks that your client is not focused window (in terms of operating system) so it stops processing keys strokes. This could be a symptom of bug in mouse controller, which for some reason goes out of boundary of client window so next click will *** it up. Common beginners bug for any game programmer. I play in window mode so it's easy to fix, you just have to click ALT-Tab and mouse click back to TESO client.

This bug is very annoying and cost me few deaths. So anyone having this problem, pls bug it.

Yeah this is becoming a constant issue for me. I've reported it many times..ugh.. I died twice and lost a chance at some random boss that didn't respawn because of it two days ago. All I could do is stand there and take a beating until I died. I play windowed so I will try the alt-tab next time and see if that helps. I use a Logitech keyboard G510 and mouse G700s. I am not using any G keys on the keyboard. Using game default keys and I am not using any mouse buttons either. I did away with all of that when this problem started for me to see if it was a keyboard/mouse key issue or game issue.

this has happened to me quite a few times lately, but I had figured whatever I was fighting had hit me with some kind of immobilization crit.

Having the same problem US server NB. Not only do I have problems with my skills not working, but when I switch out my bow for resto I still have the skills for bow on the skill line. Have to swap back and forth several times to get it to go right.

Also noted that /reloadui and the esc do not work for me when my skills stop working, I have to relog to get anything to work. Noticed it's my stamina based skills that don't work, my one mana based skill (the Siphon one) works fine with my bow skill line up. I also can not get a charged bow attacks out, as soon as I click it goes off.

Maybe linked to a problem caused by their switching of a bunch of the mana based skills over to stamina? (Please don't switch back, in fact as a NB I fully support more stamina based skills.)

Happens all the time to my NB, Esc and ESC again can fix if not dead by that point.

Happens intermittently. I've come to realize it's lag from either zone or server, but regardless, it's not consistent therefore it's not my "setup". Weapon swaps, abilities and other functions tend to lag at times and keypresses simply don't register as you use them. I'm holding onto hope that this will be addressed soon- as for now it's a minor annoyance (yes, I've gotten killed a few times because of it, but I just come back and try again).

@ZOS: Also noticing a "disarming effect" where I get hit and I get stuck in a "permanent walk" can't sprint, dodge by double tapping w,s,a,d; etc. and the only solution is logging out and back in. Latest happened last night, failed taking down Molag Bal and got stomped when titans spawned during the final battle 3 times in a row. Best way to describe how it looked:
It was like I was trying to move around while holding a corn cob in between my butt cheeks with out using my hands. And my character suffers from no "azzatall" syndrome

ive lost count with the amount of times ive died to this non-functioning combat bug. /sigh

For some reason this happening more and more to me. Rapid Strikes is what triggers it for me and its happening approx every other fight. Had it happen 3 times in the same fight yesterday (obviously I died). Between this and rapid gear decay, I feel like playing this game is just becoming too punishing.
