Just give us these style pages. What would it hurt?

You is absolutely right. And others who didn't spend a ton of time and energy trying to track those things down aren't going to understand. They will jump on here, and I think will say anything to justify anything else, any other way around earning it. Many people didn't want to put in the work, so when they started compensating some folks from not being able to participate due to PTS issues, but then EVERYONE wanted 'their' compensation package. It's funny cause I've worked for things all my life and I'm still waiting for mine. I've spent so much money on this game can I get maybe a fruit basket or somethin'?
There's no way to pin it down and thinking about it will drive you absolutely nanners. Lets just hope... I say again, let's hope against hope that they don't do this again with another set. Next time just hand it out and let us be, please I absolutely emplore you guys to just give 'em away cause you did that anyways, basically. Alot of people were not happy and that's something which in fairness, you just can't ignore forever.
I, for one, spent the time and effort and got all the styles I wanted through the event, and I am glad they are coming back.
I have long learned to dislike 'exclusive' items, even cosmetic, in video games. While I understand *why* they might have them, to me, I far prefer to have things available, even if it requires work to obtain, than have something around for a limited time and retire forever, never to return, even if the game lasts decades.
I have also seen and hated this attitude of 'people just want things handed to them for free' when something like this comes up.
Even with buying them, each one costs 10 tickets, that means that each one is going to take at least 3 days of doing whatever it will take to get tickets to get *one*. If you want more than just one, then that is going to be even longer, and means that you can't buy anything else the event has to offer for sale.
Even if I had known they were coming back and could be bought, I would have still tried to obtain them through the original methods, because there is no telling what life is going to throw at me and whether I will be able to obtain them during the next event they are offered. Plus, again, at 10 tickets each, it means that I wouldn't be able to get anything else I wanted from the event, if there is something.
So, no, it isn't 'free' from effort, it is just a different type of effort than was before, and even though it is *less* effort, it could instead be argued that the original method was *too much* effort, and something like this should have been how it was originally.
There are obviously a considerable number of players out there who feel the same way. So, in this instance and knowing this now, a better strategy would be to not do this again, not make things too exclusive for reasons stated. If you're telling a story or singing a song, better to give the audience what they came for and move on.

When I said that we were still in the middle of the grind and many players were locked out of playing for most of the event due to the PTS debacle. They had just announced that those that were locked out were going to get them all for free. I thought it would be the fair thing to give them free to everyone and not just those players because of the horrible grind we were still going through. But that didn't happen.
Now here we are and I admit I still feel bitter about it.

10th anniversary ended Dec. 31st 2024. It's 2025 now. So this year is the 11th year anniversary.

It’s a video game. If you’re not having fun with it, put it down and do something else. It’s not supposed to be a “grind” or “work”, and it’s definitely not supposed to the end of the world if someone gets something easier than you did. That’s how society works. Don’t believe me? Ask your grandparents about how easy things were when they were growing up.
Oblivion_Protocol wrote: »If you’re not having fun with it, put it down and do something else.
Advocating for items to be unobtainable because you “put in the work” in a video game is wild.
How about we learn from these cancerous FOMO practices and stop making cosmetic rewards limited time? Keep all rewards in the game after they are introduced. Hint: this gives players more incentive to play your game, grind currency’s etc.
Hapexamendios wrote: »As much as a pain those were to grind, I will not begrudge anyone who is able to get them with event tickets.
I am maybe one of few players in this game that actually enjoy to grind for rare items it gives a great reason to play that specifik content that it drops from.
I would never farm geysers the way I did if it didnt have a rare drop like that and the feeling when you got it was great, I have never seen players in Guild chat so happy over a stylepage when they finally got them.
Players that do not enjoy the grind or dont want to put down the time and effort to get them can simply skip them because its style pages and not game changing items that will make your char stronger in anyway.
I had a feeling Zos would give these away in Crownstore later but they were smart and selling them for tickets instead.
That the style pages drops again this event is fine for me but Zos should have kept the droprate and made them tradeable so you could trade or share with your friends.

We were never told the style pages would never be available again. In fact, for the past number of years with the way things come back on the Impressario it would have been normal to assume the style pages would be back at some point, possibly during the next anniversary event. Now, I didn’t want to count on that assumption myself so I put in all the work it took to grind for them. That was my choice. I still hate the way the anniversary was done and like many others hope that ZOS never ever does anything like this again. But if them making the the styles available this way is the result of all the complaining so many people including myself did during the anniversary event, then I’m happy, and I’m happy for the ones that can get them now.
It was certainly implied if not stated that these style pages would only be available during the 10th anniversary event.

Well said. I'm right there with you. This is just another slap to the face by ZOS in my view. The list of the ways I feel ZOS disrespects my time and $ investment is just getting to be too extensive these days.
DenverRalphy wrote: »SilverBride wrote: »It was implied that these items were part of the 10 year Anniversary Jubilee.
Players begged for some help with these horrible drop rates. We begged for some communication but we didn't get it. They could have said "These may be available again in the future." But we were left to believe it was now it never.
The whole thing was handled very poorly.
I'm of the opinion that at the time they probably hadn't even considered putting them back in game so soon, and certainly not earlier than the next Jubilee. I'd bet dollars to donuts that this development is more of a "Kiss and make up" decision. Because yeah, the whole endeavor was a chaotic mess.

I agree, and I am quite glad that ZOS is giving people a chance to obtain items they missed.
Basically, my feelings can be summed up by this: ESO is a game that is meant to be played for fun. It gives a variety of ways for people to go about that, and for some, that includes a 'fashion' minigame where they want to dress their characters up in many different outfits, and thus often need 'exact' finishing touches, such as the perfect sword look, or helmet etc...
Just as people who are into housing often can't just substitute one element for another of a different style, it has to be a specific element.
So, a game realizing that, or seeming to realize that (even if it hasn't) and trying to make previously 'exclusive/hard to get items' less exclusive/hard to get, is something I very much want.
I play another game (not MMO type, but pet site type) that has very few retired items, and most of those aren't actually retired, but are special prizes. All other items can be obtained in different ways. Not easily, nor quickly, not cheaply (depending on the method) but still obtainable.
It makes that game much more fun, especially when one joins the site years after the start of the site, knowing that all those items you can see other people decorate with are still available in some shape or form. Another site, again a pet site, started to move away from their permanently retired model as well, because again, they realized that, seemingly, more people find games where there are few, if any, retired/exclusive items more fun than ones that have items that eventually will go 'extinct' because the few players who obtained them simply left the game.
