We were never told the style pages would never be available again. In fact, for the past number of years with the way things come back on the Impressario it would have been normal to assume the style pages would be back at some point, possibly during the next anniversary event. Now, I didn’t want to count on that assumption myself so I put in all the work it took to grind for them. That was my choice. I still hate the way the anniversary was done and like many others hope that ZOS never ever does anything like this again. But if them making the the styles available this way is the result of all the complaining so many people including myself did during the anniversary event, then I’m happy, and I’m happy for the ones that can get them now.
Well I for one was sure that we were told they were a limited items. There was much complaining about it at the time. That was what drove the manic rush to get the items. So all of those people who thought that were just wrong?

We were never told these pages would only be available once neither is that how event items tend to work.
They almost always return.

I'm pretty positive the announcement said specifically that those four 10th anniversary style pages were only available during the 10th anniversary event. That's why so many of us, apparent fools now, spent 40 hours and sometimes more grinding them out.
In addition to the Gift Boxes and the rewards therein, you can also earn new cosmetic rewards that have never before been earnable in game, although they may be familiar to some players.

Players begged for some help with these horrible drop rates. We begged for some communication but we didn't get it. They could have said "These may be available again in the future." But we were left to believe it was now it never.
The whole thing was handled very poorly.
In keeping with our 10th year of shenanigans in ESO, certain activities in the game will now offer you some unique, never-before-sourced cosmetic rewards from exploring certain areas or systems of the game.

They also said that 10 year anniversary would include both 2024 and 2025 because it's console's 10 year anniversary this year. So, the 10 year anniversary is not currently over.
Anyway, the PTS does state it was in keeping with the 10 year but also does not state it was limited time.In keeping with our 10th year of shenanigans in ESO, certain activities in the game will now offer you some unique, never-before-sourced cosmetic rewards from exploring certain areas or systems of the game.

I don't recall ZOS ever stating it would be limited time only. I remember us asking because it would make sense to limit it to the 10 year anniversary celebrations. But, I don't remember seeing them ever respond to that.

I agree with the sentiment that I would have rather them be obtainable with less effort, and had I known for sure that they would be coming back in the future I might have waited myself. But the title of this thread is “Please don't drop those 10th anniversary items again” so that is why it could be deduced that you don’t want others to have them.

This. I actually completely agree that they could have communicated better and that the grind was insane and not something I'd want to do again. I do still have bad feelings about those style pages. I kind of ruined them for myself after initially being pretty excited about them. I won't make that mistake a second time.
The only things I disagree with is that ZOS said they wouldn't come back because afaik I know is it's simply untrue. And that others shouldn't get another crack at them. I know of people who grinded more than me that didn't get them all! I find that to be completely unfair, especially since a 10th anniversary should be special and nice! If any time is the time to spoil your players a little, it is a milestone anniversary!

The number of play hours during that event would have dropped significantly if players had known the FOMO items would later be obtainable with ease.
While I understand the goal is to drive up playtime and log-ins, many of their tactics have become increasingly abusive toward their most engaged players.
It no longer feels like the focus is on players having fun. Instead, it seems like they’re trying to extract as much time and money from us as possible with minimal effort.

You is absolutely right. And others who didn't spend a ton of time and energy trying to track those things down aren't going to understand. They will jump on here, and I think will say anything to justify anything else, any other way around earning it. Many people didn't want to put in the work, so when they started compensating some folks from not being able to participate due to PTS issues, but then EVERYONE wanted 'their' compensation package. It's funny cause I've worked for things all my life and I'm still waiting for mine. I've spent so much money on this game can I get maybe a fruit basket or somethin'?
There's no way to pin it down and thinking about it will drive you absolutely nanners. Lets just hope... I say again, let's hope against hope that they don't do this again with another set. Next time just hand it out and let us be, please I absolutely emplore you guys to just give 'em away cause you did that anyways, basically. Alot of people were not happy and that's something which in fairness, you just can't ignore forever.

I, for one, spent the time and effort and got all the styles I wanted through the event, and I am glad they are coming back.
I have long learned to dislike 'exclusive' items, even cosmetic, in video games. While I understand *why* they might have them, to me, I far prefer to have things available, even if it requires work to obtain, than have something around for a limited time and retire forever, never to return, even if the game lasts decades.
I have also seen and hated this attitude of 'people just want things handed to them for free' when something like this comes up.
Even with buying them, each one costs 10 tickets, that means that each one is going to take at least 3 days of doing whatever it will take to get tickets to get *one*. If you want more than just one, then that is going to be even longer, and means that you can't buy anything else the event has to offer for sale.
Even if I had known they were coming back and could be bought, I would have still tried to obtain them through the original methods, because there is no telling what life is going to throw at me and whether I will be able to obtain them during the next event they are offered. Plus, again, at 10 tickets each, it means that I wouldn't be able to get anything else I wanted from the event, if there is something.
So, no, it isn't 'free' from effort, it is just a different type of effort than was before, and even though it is *less* effort, it could instead be argued that the original method was *too much* effort, and something like this should have been how it was originally.

Why can’t we at least be happy for them? If they implemented the same thing again with the exact same drop rate and conditions, it would be another horrible repeat of something we all want to forget.
SilverBride wrote: »I think they need to put these style pages on the crown store FREE for EVERYONE in light of the lockouts and the horrendous grind players have gone through. This event was just one huge issue after another and is leaving a lot of players with less than good feelings.
Just give us these style pages. What would it hurt?
There are some very gracious folks out there with all 5 style pages who would have no problem with it.
There would also be a large number of FURIOUS players who did the Grind From Hell only to have the items immediately given away for free to all players. And I wouldn't blame 'em.
I think the best we can reasonably hope for is to see them return, maybe later in the year and hopefully easier to get.
This supergrind for birthday gifts never should have made it past PTS. But reverting it now would be a PR trainwreck.

I would agree with this 100% if there was a way to do it without making those of us who put in the time to get them feel like dopes for not just waiting a few months for all of it to drop effortlessly. Tweak the items just a tad? Sure. Heck, release them again with the same drop rate for the same amount of time? Great. There may be other, better ways, too - those are just off the top of my head.

Many of the people in this thread did grind. That's how I earned it and I made a thread complaining about it after I got the rewards. BTW that took me basically the entire event and I was one of the "lucky" ones.

But didn't you just get thru saying, "Your feelings are your own." in reply to someone else on here? I'm sure the same applies to me and quite frankly I can't help it if you don't like what I'm saying. I respect your ability to express yourself and to disagree but that has to work both ways as I'm sure you can understand. At any rate, specifically I was replying to two other people. If you have nothing to contribute to what we're discussing between us, then I see no reason to make this about the thread.
I appreciate that my feelings are my own too, thank you.
