Perhaps this could be a more lightweight approach to “increased zone difficulty”?
Select zones become “amplified” for a week, touching non-(main) quest related activities, increasing the difficulty of them and increasing their rewards.
The focus on the zone could get a swarm of casual players that brute force the objectives through numbers, and/or smaller groups of more kitted out players?
Sounds fun, if it's implemented as you described, such a extra helpings of what you would already earn for that activity in that zone, an increased drop chance for motifs and rare leads, monster trophy drops, rare fish, etc.
