Hi, with the last patch, I ran into this problem when trying to play on the NA server...

When I start the launcher, the warning for the European Megaserver shows up, the PLAY button appears, I click it, the mouse-icon becomes a little hourglass for a few seconds and then... nothing. The mouse-icon goes back the the standard arrow and the game doesn't start at all.

And it shows correctly on the left 'The Elder Scrolls Online (NA).

The last patch was applied already.

I already tried to solve it with a repair, I rebooted, I tried to start the eso.exe itself, I ran it as administrator, I ran it not as administrator, I even selected 'Check for updates'.

Nothing works, when I click PLAY, the game doesn't start.

When I look in the Processes tab of my task manager, I see that the game starts, takes CPU, gets to about 85k memory and then just stops. It never shows up at the Application tab.

Anyone else has this problem and/or a solution?

I don't want to second-guess you, but... I don't see any communication that the US server is down for maintance. It's not on their Twitter, not here on the forums (the last message about the US server dates from yesterday, saying it's back online) and there is no message that the US server is down on the launcher, it only says the European server is down.

So... are you sure the US server is down?

Then state you are trying to log onto the US server, there are europeans here too. Sounds like a bad problem though, try repairing the client?

My bad, I was referring to EU server ;)

Disable Webroot antivirus. It's a problem with Webroot.

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunatly, I do not use Webroot anti-virus, so that's not the problem.

And even after disabling my anti-virus, I still got the same problem. The only thing I can not disable is Microsft's own Antimalware. But that program can't be the problem cause everyone uses it.

    Any other thoughts?

Sadly I had this problem on the patch before. It required me to do something short of deleting and reinstalling the whole program. I would advise you to contact customer service with full details of your computer specs, and the issue. Just to be sure you get it from a 'reliable' source. But what I had to do was this.
After all the basic troubleshooting which you say you did, including repair and attempt to launch direct from ESO.exe

Go in your game files, copy the DEPOT file to your desktop. (under zenimax online/launcher)
next delete ALL ESO files. ( except for the DEPOT on your desktop )
Now download the launcher from the ESO site
    account.elderscrollsonline.com
next check that you now have the zenimax online file again, then copy the the DEPOT back to the files location ( if a depot is there, rename it to deport backup)
    now close all those windows
Next run the launcher, this will cause the game to redownload all the patches however.
once that is done repair one more time to check files.
now when that is done. close the launcher, then restart it.
you should have a play button that now works.

Yeah, its kind of a pain, but it is short of a full reinstall, and I have not had any problems since.
Hope you get it worked out!

    Thank for the reply.

But it looks like it doesn't matter aymore, I can't play the game anyway: apparently, they refused my creditcard (which I use everywhere else with success) and I can not access my account because it keeps throwing me back to the agecheck, a bug they apparently refuse to fix.

These people do not seem to like customers, lol.
