✭I get this alot. I will also press an attack (1-5), get no response, hit that attack again, and then two attacks will go off. Not terribly bad for most, but when you are short on stamina and need a proper skill rotation, this doesn't cut it.Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.

XBOX NARuze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.
He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.
This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.6 -
Adryssa_Joneley✭✭✭I have this happen a lot as well, particularly my Nightblade. Even after they supposedly fixed the issue. I have lost count with the amount of times i have died due to this. A /reloadui fixes this but you are long dead before that even even reloads. I also found pressing the Esc on the keyboard has helped make combat work.
No matter whether i am pressing the keyboard action buttons or my mouse combat button..... my toon just stands there unable to fight. It more often happens when you are fighting more than 1 enemy, though i'm pretty sure it has happened with 1 vs 1 fights as well.5 -

TicToc✭✭✭Yeah, it happens to me all the time, but today it has been particularly bad. Not sure if the problem is worse, or if it is just because i have been getting into bigger fights tonight, than i usually do, so it seems so much worse. Some times i have to hit a key several times before i actually get a response. This has got me killed multiple times today.
For an action combat game the controls need to be much more responsive. Please make fixing this a priority.1 -

BaKaNoOB✭✭✭You must wait 1-2 sec after your last attack before hitting "`" key cause there is a thing which prevents you from switching Weapons when attack animation or spell animation is playing. for me it works every time except when i forgot to wait in really heated combat. (on the top left of the screen there is message- you cannot switch weapons at this time or something like that which is not shown sometimes)

Nah this is just overall bad responding from the games server side to the inputs you make on your keyboard. I hear it even exist on the US server from posts here and channels i follow like Force on youtube for example.Is it possible that you are suffering from an effect that prevents action. I know that I've been hit by such effects and am unable to move or perform an action until the effect wears off.
If you have it on the US servers imagen how it it for us EU players with our inputs that has to travel across the atlantic on top of that.
On top of everything buggy and broken in ESO atleast fluid gameplay is a must have in any game. I recall UO and Daoc (Heck UO didn't even have keybinding until years later where you had to get a 3rd party program for that and daoc didn't have spell queing) being more fluid and responsive then ESO currently is even when i played those games on US servers.
Ahh well guess we'll just have to see what ZOE come up with since there is a sort of timeframe set with Wildstar and Archage release around the corner

steveb16_ESO46✭✭✭✭✭I don't care what the reasons are. Fluid instant combat is basic to the game. GW2 switches bars instantly and that is exactly the level of performance ESO has to deliver. I don't care about animations or any such bullcrap. Just fix it. Fix it yesterday because as it stands the ability to swap weapons is just little more than a cosmetic function.

not to mention that even "out of combat" it gets really annoying when you're lying dead on the ground.. you have 20+ FULL soulshards on you.. and you for some reason CANNOT press "R" to ress at the spot, but hitting E works flawlessly -.-0 -
Lovely✭✭✭Agreed. It's most obvious for me with weapon swapping and using the ultimate (have to press it 4-5 times).
Also agree with @steveb16_ESO46. Weapon swapping should be instant. What is the point of weapon swapping if you're most likely dead by the time the weapon swapping actually occurs.Edited by Lovely on May 13, 2014 6:36AM1 -

Pyr0xyrecuprotite✭✭✭✭✭' (for mail) - and then Alt - is also a fast key combo to get combat working again, if your attacks become non-responsive. There are a few other threads about attacks not working, especially for Nightblades (for reasons unknown).0 -

MyschaellaSoul ShrivenThis happens to me a lot, was not too bad an issue for me before but now in the Vet rnk4 areas it is getting extremely annoying and causing me to die, when for me death has been a rareity all the way up to this lvl (even when skills have failed to fire). Also I am getting very very tired of the failure to weapon swap and dodgy roll mechanics. I was in the CBT for 4 months of an upcoming game and their combat mechanics were crisp, clean and extremely responsive (other game got very boring very quickly as combat was the only good thing and I left beta to play ESO). If ESO had responsive combat to your key presses it would go along way to improving what is by far the weakest part of the game.Edited by Myschaella on May 13, 2014 7:12AM0
