By all legal definitions, that would not satisfy compensation.

They don't have a legal or contractual obligation to compensate you. It's in the terms and conditions of both the game itself and ESO+.

Actually it does.

Given that you literally agree with the terms of service in order to access the game, it means you already waived your rights to demand compensation for periods where you cannot access the game.

Sometimes companies provide compensation simply to earn goodwill.

ZOS has been making more of a point to do things like extend events by a day to compensate for scheduled maintenance, for example.

I also recall when a game like WoW was unplayable for a period of time (Like 1+ week) due to some server issues, they provided a free month extention on subscriptions.

Compensation can be a nice way to make people feel better about issues and the company in general.

Sorry, but Mavloc is right. European consumer laws > Terms of services. Always, no exception. Thing is, who is going to get ZOS to court for something minor like this? Exactly: nobody. Who would even care..

I appreciate this kind of humor.

Also - compensation isn't needed nor will it happen unless this goes to a multi-day thing. Servers go up... servers go down... tis' life in the tech industry.

Imagine if it worked just like the pebble or the snowball pet. Where it just spawns in and falls to the ground every time you stop somewhere. Honestly I'd love it. 😂

Hi all, we are closing this thread down for now. We know the outage is frustrating, however, the first thing we need to focus on as a team is getting things back online without issue. Once servers are back online and people can play again, we will evaluate the impact and next steps.
