Next step (after a small portion of the playerbase is rich) : Motifs and recipes Bound to Account (or character).

    Pros

    - Less items to sell in the non existent AH; hence AH is less needed.
    - Less chat spam; hence selling/buying chat spam es less a problem.
    - Less items that need to be stored in the tiny inventory; hence less inventory "problems".

    win/win/win

I have to say Racial Motif style are in high demand I believe they should be brought down in price when selling I mean it's hard enough to make money as it is but hey this is just my thought into this what Do you guys think?

It's easy to make gold in this game, the prices will be what people pay.

Every day this topic is brought up in a zone chat and I have the same response, "Don't like the price don't buy it, there's others that will."

I understand your statement but truth be told, that's just economics & its people that buy gold that can pay that much for those motifs. So sellers charge that amount and get away with it. Not fair for those of use that work for our gold but its just the hard cold facts in MMORPG's like it or not. Its the ass hat lazy scum bags that buy gold to blame for gold sellers and the high prices in part. Also its partly due to plain old economics.....supply & demand.

The prices are maturing as time passes; I'm buying several now at the price I had bought a single Motif for to begin with. If your having a hard time finding them, try asking your Guild; if your not in one, I suggest joining for trade.

#1-9 are really only worth ~200-700 if even, if you paid more than that, you are a sucker.

As for #10-14, supply and demand; I've seem prices in that range go from around 10k-60k, which is silly.
I currently have all of #1-9, and only spent a few thousand gold - the basic motifs are not worth that much.

XYZ price may seem silly to YOU but that's based on your own internal calculation of value, the next person might find it perfectly reasonable. Before you go calling people "suckers" you might want to do a little homework on praxeology (specifically catallactics) . The term sucker would be applicable only if the person involved was being duped which is not the case here since the buyer knows exactly what he/she is getting and exactly the price that is being paid.

    For example:

Joe Schmoe that makes $50K a year might say that paying $50 million dollars for a home is "foolish", while Bill Gates who's worth billions finds a $50 million dollar home cheap and has no problem paying that price, is Bill Gates a "sucker" ?

I went to a university too professor.

Time to take the magnifying glass away from your ***. If someone is dumb enough to not do some basic research on average prices for motifs and they paid more than what they could have gotten otherwise, that makes them a sucker. Someone can "think" they are getting a good deal, but that is not always the case.

And you're example is completely off. Let's say Joe Schmoe and Bill Gates both want to buy a widget - let us say its average price is ~$100. Bill Gates did his research and found a widget for $100. Joe Schmoe hears someone selling a widget for $165 and, seeing that he doesn't know any better, he buys it. So yeah, Joe Schmoe did not make a smart move in this example, but he thought it was reasonable, when in reality it was foolish.

Just playing the game I've gotten all the normal motifs. I'm only 40th level atm, so I figure the advanced motifs will come once I'm veteran. I've gotten several duplicates which I just give to my roommate and my alts. I don't really see the need to sell them, there's really not much to use money for in the game.

I was standing under this tree in Glenumbra and some chick just handed me a bunch of coin just for helping trim it of some unwanted branches... so I think it actually does grow on the trees.

I know calling other people names strokes your own sense of superiority but your hypothesis is way off base, if you stop and think about HOW people derive their individual concept of "value" you'll understand that your own internal value calculations are neither universal nor more valid than anyone else's, let me help you out here though ..... doing "basic research" requires time & effort , both of which may be more valuable to the person in question than any potential "gold" saved by doing said "basic research" (i.e. time & effort > benefit derived).

Now feel to either continue calling everyone else names (if that's what makes you feel better about yourself) or stop and take advantage of the insight I'm handing you, whichever way you decide to go doesn't matter to me since I've done my good deed for the day.

If you're relying on motif sales to make money, you're doing it wrong.

You will have way better luck farming mats in the wild and vendoring them. Even really common mats like Iron.

I sell motifs only so I don't have to store them, and because I don't want them to go to waste. But I consider them a bonus, nothing more. 300 to 450gp is normal for common motifs in Glenumbra zone chat.

Also, your post is missing several periods.

Maybe by tier 1 1000g, t2 2000g ... and so on, somethin like that sounds reasonable when its easy to get that money but finding motifs isn't.

Motifs don't have tiers, they are cosmetic. There is a demand for specific sets building slowly, but none yet for style. By the time people want an item in a specific style, I am sure you will have found all the books you need to offer them their choice.

Haha, and you are saying I am trying to sound superior - common sense is common sense; if that makes you upset, then go on and continue your lecture while trying to sound like you have a strong argument.
