Can you even detect exploits/hacking?

I just saw a jute node spawn then right after a bot came flying down, got the node then teleported away...

If you can`t detect them and are unable to ban them, how are you detecting the players that are using speed hacks and other cheats? Are you even able to identify these things?

I`m asking because if you could detect cheats/hacks the bots would be automatically banned... so my guess is that you have no way to detect them(except if a player reports them) and no automatic system to ban them.

Any way we can get a staff member to confirm or deny this?

EDIT: Just saw another one... i`m on an alt in the starter area. This is what new players will see... bots teleporting all over. Not to mention that they are harvesting nodes so fast real players have no chance to do it....

I doubt it would be in anyone's interests for them to discuss what they can or can't detect as far as exploits, so you probably won't get an informative answer to your question.

They could admit what everyone already knows... if they had any way of automatic detection the teleporting bots would be banned instantly... they don`t so bots are taking over....

I think they should make a system like that its stupid to have a game where bots are flying all over the place harvesting nodes while players can`t get any:)))

You can't usually detect hacks/exploits, but you can sometimes tell if someone is using them, if you can see them, and know what the classes can do.

If you see someone walking on water, it's a hack.
If you see someone's head sticking out the ground or walking on air, it's a hack.
If you see them repeatedly using abilities that need to recharge, it's a hack or possibly an exploit.

How ever it can sometimes appear to be a hack when it's not, for example Bosmer in medium with Stamina enchantments and the Steed mundus stone can run faster than horses, but it's not a hack/exploit.

This. And as further evidence of this fact, ZOS wouldn't be asking players to report such activity if such detection methods existed in any sort of manageable, predictable and repeatable manner.

    Thats not true.

There are automated systems that calculate speed hacks using x,y coords variation over a time. The same applies for teleport hacks.

You might not be able to keep a log of other exploits like bugged scripts, and thus not being able to "automatically" (by being done by the system itself) detect them, but detecting speedhacks/teleports is 101 for any anticheat system.
