Hey all, mainly Zenimax stuff. I´ve discovered this issue happened already on 2 PCs together 3 times.

From mine opinion, this may happen, when player will close game with ALT+F4 or game will crash with some kind of error. First, you´ll notice much more "missing item" red boxes in games instead of some graphic (stones, boxes, etc...). Then, NPCs or your char will have parts of your armor coloured in strange colour. Like bright purple shoulder armor part or bright blue pants etc. It may wont happen all during one game session, it can take some time. One day, you even wont see grass or trees or any other NPCs. Only you all alone. And then, PC freeze strange way. After restart, everything in system is allright, until you´ll start launcher or game itself. Next freeze will show itself soon. Another restart and so on...

I´ve reinstalled system in believe of some kind of system malfunction, made complete files backup. After clean system install (together with all necesarry drivers etc), I´ve copied game files and launched game. Issue was back again and in really agresive way. I´ve noticed, hard drive is at 100% (SSD drive at 100%? Why the hell it should be during playing ESO and no loading at all?) a while before crash and so long time after. I gave it few tries to verify. After being sure it is some mistake on HDD, I´ve run checkdisk after bootup. I´ve been stucked at 12% of total progress for like 2 hours. When I almost gave up, I plug the SSD drive into another PC and run checkdisk from command prompt, where I can see the progress of it. Again, stucked at 12%, but there were files counting on. I let it be for like 4 hours and when it was done, I found some of .dat ESO files were corrupted and was deleted in order to repair the drive.

So this is guide for those who may have similar issue. If you are able to, plug your hdd into another PC like a second disc and run chkdsk (drive letter): /R from command prompt and let it finish. It can possibly find and delete corrupted files, which launcher repair utility wont find because of freeze (forgot to mentioned that above). Then just start launcher, start up repair and let it download missing files.

And now for Zenimax developres and tech support: I´ve ended the game using ALT+F4 quiet often (not always). Like 80% if these attempts were finished by game crash window, but it seems to be gone after one of last patches. Game itself crashed 2 times so for I remember for unknown reason (and it was like a week after game launch). It seems these ALT+F4 ends causes small data corruption in .dat files of game. Maybe you can have a look at it?
