Here's the experience of an average player taking the vamp/ww ball : pick up the ball -> run away because you will last less time than grave grasp's buff -> wait until you die helplessly surrounded by allies who can't heal you.
When did this player use the "highly edited" abilities that were supposed to be "more tuned to pvp" ? Never. And why is that ? Because he will die in 2 hits.
How can players counter this lack of healing ? Easy, use a healer, right ? Ok so, in a random queue, I'm supposed to find a healer good enough to survive more than 5 seconds (wich would be the top 20% of players in the 8v8 mode) and who can at the very least outheal the ball's damage. Those good healers are only found in premade groups.
Therefore, the solution is to find a good healer before the match and then I am allowed to have fun... Yeah, if wanted and had the time to do that, I would have gone in cyrodiil. BGs are supposed to be the fast food of pvp, not something you have to prepare for 15 minutes for
The fact that those balls don't allow you to heal do 2 things :
-Prevent the transformations from being a fun tool that can turn the tide of a bg if used by a good player
-Show, yet again, that the devs don't play pvp
