There is nothing to debate about that one.

At this point, why not. Can't be worse than any of the other lore-breaking radiant apex mounts.

The ESO world is simply not made for such kind of travel if it is about flying. Everything too close to each other.

It would also be much much to big to fit through gates as we will never have a flying one which would just jump over walls.

It could not enter blackreach and other spaces where ordinary mounts fit it.

The only possible way is to have a baby dragon with rudiments of non-functioning wings which would work just like any other mount. Just ride a Wamasu.

It makes no sense lore-wise either.

    I voted "No" because...

Dragons are not in ESO because Lore suggested it. They are in ESO because one of the devs suggested it. Even though they swizzled with creative writing, I don't feel that dragons are lore appropriate for ESO. They sort of made it work by squinting and looking at it from 30,000 feet. I guess they can just have Mora erase the memory, though.

Dragons are also too big. World of Warcraft had huge mounts and they were abominations. They blocked the view of NPCs, sometimes deliberately on the part of the players. They were simply too large for the game world.

Dragons fly, and that is already not a thing.

The main reason is that I want to be on record saying "no" when ZOS decides that the game needs Crown Crate dragon mounts for $$$$$.

I just split the difference and say they have 3 legs.

Actually dragons are LORE (TES Skyrim solo game anyone?)

Your other points I absolutely share.

And yes, dragons are not well modelled in ESO. Their heads are just badly made. Like a wooden head with a moving jaw from a puppet. Reminds me always of this https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x54p8fy

Dragons are lore appropriate for Skyrim, and that is fine. Elder Scrolls dragons are not just large lizards with a questionable number of legs. They have a desire to rule. They are immortal creatures from the beginning of time. They cannot be permanently killed in ESO. They have no reason to hang around Elsweyr. Having escaping dragons in the 2nd Era is like trying to shove the genie back into the bottle.

I have no issues with how they are modeled or animated. They are challenging, and make Elsweyr more interesting. It is just that they should have never been there in the first place.

Well, regardless they surfaced in Elsweyr in 2E, there has always been Akatosh - you know, the Dragon God of Time. That still doesn't mean I want dragons as mounts....

AAMOF, I feel as if Akatosh would take GREAT offense to that. Serious.

I don’t think this will go well because the game already crashes sometimes when you ride a mount in Cyrodiil to a keep and the game can’t load the keep, all the players in the same area, all the spells being cast, siege being fired etc… imagine getting to the keep even faster? Rip your game

    Maybe
Will they fly? Will they glide?

If the answer is no on both of these questions, then adding a dragon mount that doesn't fly would be dumb
Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.

I don't see why not. Players flying and players riding dragons are from previous Elder Scroll games.

ES3 Morrowind allowed the player to fly.

ES5 Skyrim allowed the player to ride a dragon.

Those are single player games so it’s different. I think it comes down to memory issues and also needing time for things to load in.

Now you PROBABLY could do something similar to that Dragon Skeleton pet that glides, make the mount do that… glide barely off the ground and at the same speed as a regular mount. That COULD be possible but I still don’t see it happening.

Players were flying in ESO several years ago.

Multiple NPC fly in ESO. The current game engine is managing with them flying now.

I think that it would be a good idea to have limitations on dragon mounts. Folks probably have very different opinions. I think that not allowing players to attack other players while flying would be helpful.

we already have 4 legged lizard mounts. I love dragons but that's probably what we would get. For actual flying mounts, the current engine can't handle flying mounts like other mmos can

The current engine handles flying dragons fine. I enjoy fighting dragons in Northern or Southern Elsweyr when there are other folks around to help.

The current engine handles the flying Crowborne Horrow in the current Witches Festival event fine. I had fun completing that earlier today with several other folks.
