Introduction/What this is about

So, as you can sorta tell, this is gonna be something big. I am going to be making a lot of discussions/posts around this idea of mine. This current post/discussion is going to be called the "Home Post" since this links all those discussions together (I will be putting links into those posts as well to come back here for convenience). It'll be a little expansive but I hope it'll be a fun read. Oh, and as you can tell, I am new a bit to the ESO Forums. This is gonna be fun!

Also, you may be asking yourself, "Why is Silvain doing this? Don't they know ZOS is most likely going to ignore these crazy ideas?!" Well, to put the icing on the cake, if they don't notice these and all I get is a bunch of other Forum readers and commentors, I am content with that. Plus, putting the ideas down to words to be read is fun.

I hope you all enjoy this. This discussion will be altered quite a few times though as I add more ideas and fill it out. So it may be barren of details now, but over time it will grow. ENJOY!!!

- New Skill Line Idea (Place Holder) -

Why the skill line reworks/why make this skill line?

- Vampire Rework: I was playing this game from so long ago when vampirism only had 2 active skills and an ult that was just a 6 or so second cloud of bats. With the current set up, I see an opportunity. With the proposed change, it would allow vampirism to get to a point that allows for more playstyles. The ult also becomes a hybrid model where when you morph, you focus more on your vampiric powers (Perfect Scion with one bar, similar to WW) or become a Scion who is becoming more proficient with their vampiric abilities, but know the importance of the knowledge they have gained outside of being a vampire (Swarming Scion with 2 bars, similar to Necro Tank Ult). I think this would be an enhancement of the vampire skill line.

- Werewolf Rework: When I can, I will make this rework idea. The basis of it will change, incorporating a toggle mechanic discussed in the Vampire Rework but with added twists while incorporating a state I like to call "Starved" and the other "Fed". The idea will give the WW a more "pack-focused" theme with one or two changes that I would give word too.

- New Skill Line: This would be a new skill line focused on targeting vampires and werewolves (NPCs and players). With this idea, it would alter the Fighters Guild Skill line slightly in that the buff to damage on vampire and ww players would be converted to a daedric damage increase. This is because the Fighters Guild should still be treated as mercenaries as they are, not a force meant to fight the supernatural. This skill line would take up this potential role and act as a countermeasure to players cursed/infected with vampirism and lycanthropy.

Whiterun location (with pictures)

Ideas for the story

- Potential to be based around factions related to Lamae Bal and Hircine.
- Potential Daedric item involved.
- Intro to mortal faction that focuses on exterminating Vampire and Werewolves.
- Obviously in Whiterun. Prologue may end in a spot where a Daedric Prince was defeated, iconic item stolen.

Potential Details/Filler

- Talking with the factions has in game relation to Vampire/Werewolf rework (more focused on vampire since major change).
- Gives more life to factional choices giving focus to allies you can talk to in other regions (random barkeep turns out to be a vampire or werewolf and gives special dialogue to players with the same "condition" as an example).

Whiterun... I know The Companions as seen in TES V: Skyrim are werewolves who live in Whiterun during the 4th Era, but I don't think there were any werewolves living in Whiterun during the 2nd Era. Still, ZOS could use Whiterun and The Companions as an excuse to rework/update the Werewolf and Vampire skill lines, the way the Greymoor Chapter reworked Vampire and updated Werewolf.

I have a rework idea for vampires already. I was going to notion to it here. It was called "09/29/2024 Vampire Rework Idea" if you want to look at it.

@Erickson9610 Sorry for linking you and all, but I made the Werewolf page, and you seem interested in them, so I would love to see your opinion

Vampires do not need a rework, they just need adjustments

    - Perfect Scion should last 30 seconds instead of 20
    - Vampiric Drain and it's morphs should grant Major Savagery and Major Prophecy for 20 seconds after the effect ends.
    - Mesmerize and it's morphs should apply charm instead of fear and a synergy that lets Vampires feed on the target.
    - Blood Frenzy and it's morphs grant Major Brutality and Major Sorcery while active.
    - Mist Form should include Bats as part of the visuals to match NPCs.

@TX12001rwb17_ESO and that's your opinion. This is mine.

I'd love to see a rework and this is that idea given form, even if it slowly takes shape. If it's ignored by ZOS, then at least I had fun making the post(s).

Vampires and Werewolves originate from Daedra. Daedra are also supernatural obviously.
that Fighters Guild rework makes no sense.

@LunaFlora I agree, they do originate from Daedra but they aren't Daedra themselves. They were former mortals that have been enhanced with a "cursed" state. And while you do the Fighters Guild questline, you can hear the opinions that a number of members hate fighting the Dark Anchors and Daedra (since they are supposed to be more like legal, trained, and well known mercenaries not slayers of the Daedra). So it makes sense in that they would be more proficient with fighting the Daedra (Dark Anchors and such during this time), but that doesn't mean that they would be proficient with fighting Vampires and Werewolves (both of which would not be major forces in a Daedric assault). This is why I would alter the Fighters Guild Skill line passive slightly and move the theme of countermeasure against vampires and werewolves to a new skill line (which would be related to another organization) while keeping anti-Daedra intact (since their main focus is the Dark Anchors during the base game main questline). This is just my train of thought on why.

This is all opinion though, so if you don't feel like it's right, that is just your opinion against my opinion. Its not wrong nor right.
