If LibHistoire data is old or missing your pricing in ANY addon uisng it like MM, ATT, TTC etc. is wrong too!
If you skip the dialog and do not fix your local cache data to be properly all green in LibHistoire, you do not have ANY benefit of the pricing addos as you see outdated or even totally wrong or non data at all.

So there is no point to skip the dialog or disable it. You need to fix the missing data and reset your local cache maybe as I have explained abovem and then constantly update it each day (or each time you play) or you will be using wrong/inconsistent data and your pricing addons simply do not work as intended -> Where in the end you might write to the addon devs that their addons are not working properly like I have explaiend above, and in the end it was your fault skipping the dialog and not fixing your local cache files.

The ones that do not search for help but just want the popup go away: Disable the library.

i do understand, its called it can get the data when i decide to sit on a toon for more than 5 minutes

there are times when i get in and i switch characters rapidly and all the popup does is annoy me, it will eventually get the data when i settle on the character i want to play for the day

disabling the addon entirely prevents getting the data, thats defeating the purpose of the addon, along with it removing any functionality for price tracking addons, so disabling it is not an option

im literally just wanting a way to disable the popup because i find it annoying, i know what the purpose is, i know it wont save the data if i log out before its done processing, but it can just process the data when i sit on a character long enough, i am not changing my game habits to work around the addon

every time i get the popup i literally just hit "log out anyway", so the popup doesnt do anything to stop me from doing what i want to do, its just in the way and annoying

something i can look into if it starts to bother me again, lately i havent had it pop up quite as much because ive been doing daily writs on my main again (due to needing surveys for achievements) which is usually long enough for it to process the guild trader events (i have everything else turned off)

its honestly very poor user friendliness if theres no option to configure really basic stuff like that, especially for a library addon thats used by almost every other addon that does anything with guilds

to me, the warning and preventing a user from logging out is treating me like, pardon the language, like im an idiot

i know it wont save the data if i ignore it, but ive literally hit "log out anyway" every time this pops up, i know how it works, i know it wont save, im not complaining the addon is not working, im complaining that its not user friendly by not providing an option to not display this as it is changing how the logout functions, this annoys me far more than missing out on processing the data for 5 minutes

so far ive never had the data get corrupted, and ive had to be using this addon library now for at least 6 months, and never once have i waited for it to finish processing, so i would rather take the slim chance it corrupts the data and needs to be refetched entirely than making me wait to log out to change characters

im used to hitting escape->log out and then E to logout immediately without waiting for the normal 10 second logout timer, its very annoying when i go to do the normal logout routine and the E opens the addon processing window instead of logging out

there are always going to be people who complain about any kind of software because they dont understand how it works, but its also bad form to automatically treat every user like "one of those people"

my suggestion would be to add an option, and add the warning when disabling it explicitly stating "lost or corrupted data is not the responsibility of the addon devs or zos" and if they have a problem the first question to ask would be "did you turn this setting off? try turning it back on and seeing if anything is getting stuck on logout" (for example)

there is no way to make 100% of the users happy all the time, but not including an option at all for people who do know what its doing is not user friendly, its almost as bad as the games environmental sustainability settings that currently have no in game way to disable (or no way at all to disable if on console) by removing or limiting choice of the user

suggesting to me to go in and remove the warning manually is akin to editing the usersettings.txt to disable the environmental sustainability settings

Well you are not the only user and if the option would be there everyone who does not bother to think about WHY it is there just enables it and dang we got the bad experiebce from before again (as explained).

Nope, that's not true. You'd have to edit the addon's code files (which should not be done unless you know what you do).
But if you are willig to learn how it works there is plenty of explanations and resources on www.esoui.com about addon development, getting started etc. Maybe you want to invest the time there instead of complaining here about a feature you won't get (if I'm not wrong and the library dev decides to add it).

if those people used said option to disable it and complained about a bad experience, then tell them to turn the option back on, again thats a "user" problem, not a "software" problem, you cant fix an issue thats between the chair and keyboard

and yes, modifying the usersettings.txt and modifying an addon files are effectively the same thing, if you dont know what your doing with either, then gonna break something

if i feel like i need to, ill make local modifications to at least make the popup less annoying (namely changing the keys used) so that E is still "logout now", but would prefer to not have to, especially if it would only be a temporary solution that would get reverted whenever the addon was updated

After reading entire thread all I can say is one can admire Baertram's endurance and patience. Remember troubleshooting people in one of my ex guilds to help get it to work and amount of people who said that they've read everything and actually did everything is obscenely low, it's always missing steps or not understanding how it works leading to that, nothing really to be done about it and that's ok.

What's not ok is blaming devs doing something for you working literally against zos measures to still provide best possible experience. It's a free add-on that needs user attention to maintain, nothing more nothing less. When it had genuine issues I've traded the console way just fine, saying to disable it if it's not working for you isn't an attack, but common sense.
