Please Remove "Rounds" From 4v4 Battlegrounds

Our BG guild is having a hard time finding a benefit to this "rounds" feature. All it does is punish the weaker team and make them EVEN WEAKER when someone runs out of lives. It is literally impossible to compete when you are permanently down one team member. I like that we're trying to new stuff but this feature is a whiff.. please reconsider. Thanks!

A suggestion that was made in our discord: If we want to keep rounds make it so that the round ends as soon as one player runs out of lives.. because the team that is down a player has no chance until the round is over.

How would people feel about a 4v4 mode where each player is given an entirely pre-built character?

    Something like the following:
    Classic Deathmatch
    • 4v4
    • Each team has 1 Dragonknight, 1 Sorc, 1 Nightblade, 1 Templar
    • Builds are entirely pre-set, with maybe a few “loadouts” to choose from
    • Goal is to take away our personal builds in favor of creating a completely even playing field

It nonsense, ESO is MMO, player need grinding to get gear and skill, then the involved PVP.

Your idea is more like Street Fighter 6 or LOL, this will make PVE content make non sense, ZOS lose money, game dead

Please no, premade build? What? Imagine a "competitive" system where you are forced to forfeit free will and put on something unoptimized. If you want ideas like this, go play casual 8v8s

I play some irl airsoft events that follow something similar to this rule.

The team gets a set of respawns. When a person dies, but there are no respawns left, the round is over.

I could see something like it working for this.

I hated this in Competitive GW2 BGs because the curated builds were sub-par and made your character flaccid.

My character has been flaccid for a long time. It happens to us all eventually... I mean, because of balance change... of course...

Not premade set builds, but selected from the sticker book would be OK.
Here $15, goat mount please. Not gambling or paying 45 : lol :
20% base speed for high ping players.
Streak moves you faster then speed cap.
They should of made 4v4v4v4 instead of 8v8.

I liked the idea with the lives. And I hate build limitations in PvP. Its ok to lose. Half of the players in the new BGs will lose.

Maybe to be more clear about the build limitations point: I'd rather lose 1000 matches with my RP trash, than to play one game with the meta slop.

I think the lives should be given to the whole team. When the team runs out of lives, then they lose. Instead of each individual player having their own lives. Because yeah, when you are down a man, the chances of success drop dramatically. That is if they want to keep that mechanic. I dont really see a need for it at all in the first place.

Just keep it as timed/objective based.
Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.

Have they still not removed rounds?

A PvP mode with premade build templates would allow players that do not have a PvP build yet to experience PvP without build disadvantage with only skill disadvantage motivating them start PvPing.
This mode would also be kind of an esport. Games like LoL have premade chars allowing new players to immediately start PvPing competitively.
Needing days as a starter to get a competitive PvP char that ist still not the best only to find out if you like the PvP makes mmorpg PvP unpopular and people not even want to try.
This mode should be an additional mode and not replace normal battlegrounds with your own build because most current PvPers want to keep playing with their own builds and not be limited in gearchoice. Therefore normal battlegrounds would stay populated while battleground with premade builds would attract new players.

    No.

All they need is an actual MMR. Then, when you're a newbie and have no idea how combat works and don't know how to make a build for PvP, you're matched against someone that also falls close to those characteristics.

The answer is so simple and yet, they're publishing a year's worth of investment without the foundation that makes it function.

I knew they would screw this update up somehow. It was so hard to not go full on fanboy during the preview stream.

While I am completely against any push to remove round based PvP in ESO, as it reminds me of Elimination in Destiny, a mode I was quite fond of…

In Destiny a player could make an incredible clutch play and wipe out the other team…

You can’t do that in ESO.

Healing and tanking are too big of a problem in ESO’s PvP, and neither of those have been addressed. This mode would work great if there was potential of an upset, but with tight MMR forcing you into equal skill lobbies, it’s going to be near impossible.

That being said, I would rather the main problems with PvP being addressed than removing Elimination as an option, but one cannot deny it would be far simpler to do so… just much less healthier for the game than the alternative.
