It's clear that the company only cared about getting you to pay for the game, and not the games longevity, which is very disappointing.

This is fundamentally untrue, this game is in its infancy and hasn't dropped the first major patch on us yet, which we all know will have several patches before and after that will address most of your issues. Patience, this is an MMO. I couldn't play WoW correctly for a year after it came out, and it still pulled its head out of its bum...for awhile.

Yo, Admins, how about a farkin update...!? It's been nearly 5 hours now and there hasn't been an update to the freaking official topic @‌
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/96096/eso-maintenance-na-megaserver-5-12-14-8am-edt

You guys *REALLY* have got to work on your customer service. If you guys have been consistent in one thing, it's your terrible CS.

Actually they say in the post that they will update the site when the maintenance is finished. YOU REALLY have to work on your reading.

Yeah that's clear huh? Cause that would make SO much sense to try and put themselves out of work...... DUHHHHH.

While his tone may have been rather forthright, he has a very valid point. As a Software Technical Lead/Product Owner myself I can get through an average of 15 bugs a day alone.
Um, no you can't. Not if you're doing any testing.
6 weeks with mainly nothing but quest fixes and loot nerfs due to botting is just not good enough. Yet they have the time to release more content when half the stuff they already have is bugged.
You do realize that it's almost definitely 2 separate teams right? The people creating the new content are going to be different from the people working on fixing bugs, and the people from one team probably aren't qualified to properly do the work of the people from the other team.

We complain because we care. We want the game to last. Wow was one of the first of it's kind. Players DO NOT have the patience for half ass fixes that hinder gameplay rather then enhance it, and a company that keeps us in the dark as far as communication.

Um, no you can't. Not if you're doing any testing.

Also, it is somewhat silly to compare your software platform to ESOs. Are they on the same scale (meaning millions of clients and a massive cloud-hosted server back-end)? Has your software only been deployed post-beta for a month or so? Or has it been in the world for years (resulting in a more stable code base)?

Life of a Nightblade (Screenshot Tumblr)

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

This is where I disagree with the maintenance bashers. Better for an mmo to undergo a 4 hour scheduled maintenance have than the game crash in the middle of the week then we find out we get a 2-3 day rollback.

I am in a very large, multi-game guild and we've already lost over 50% of the people that pre-purchased for early access and access to the Imperials. These aren't average, casual players and their attention/subs have already been lost. I'd hate to see this go the way of SWToR, but it sure is starting to look that way.

If they don't knock the ball out of the park with 1.1, this one will end up on the scrap heap of blown MMO opportunities along with AoC, Aion, and the aformentioned SWToR. Good luck Bethesda.

Just to clarify, the patch notes were released, yet will remain down for the backend fixes? (normally the patch notes released signify the downtime is over, thats why I ask).... Also, Do you think they will fix the node exploit, its remained through a couple patches and it would be nice to know it was getting fixed. Any admin care to comment?

It's possible. The spawning is probably something that can be changed server-side without a client patch. So it is very possible they are going to do something about the insta-spawning nodes.

Aion lasted for years. At least a year maybe two as pay to play, and it is still free to play and successful at that now. This game may not last one year P2P subscribe. It be very sad if they cancel the console version.

So your idea is no Maintenance? That is the stupidest idea I ever heard sorry. Every MMO I ever played over the years did this. You want the game to run right? You want the bots gone? You want the bugs fixed? How will this be done with no Maintenance? You must be a person that runs their car never checks the fluids and wonders why the engine seized up because no coolant or oil.

This is scheduled maintenance. They scheduled it in advance and put a notification up to let people know when it was going to happen. How exactly that makes it "not a scheduled maintenance" is beyond me.

I think it will be fewer than 70% of early access players who pay for this month's subscription by today. Today is when the last of the early access stragglers get charged the $14.99 if they haven't quit.

I'd be ecstatic if I were them to only have a 30% initial month churn from box sales. That would be an amazing figure for a premium MMO service off of the initial launch.
